Thumbs up Jean Pascal vs. Bernard Hopkins rematch on HBO May 21st

    May 21
At Montreal (HBO): Jean Pascal vs. Bernard Hopkins, rematch, 12 rounds, for Pascal's Ring/WBC light heavyweight title; Chad Dawson vs. Adrian Diaconu, 12 rounds, light heavyweights.

I believe Pascal vs. B-hop II will play out different from the 1st go round, and Pascal wins a fairly clear cut UD. Who you kats got and why?

I got B-hop winning by KO/TKO. I think he's going to come out really trying to assert himself, knowing there is no way he's getting a decision up there.

It would be pretty fookin' amazing if the 46 year old Hopkins was able to do that, I just feel like Pascal will turn it up a notch this time and fight the entire 12 rounds. I figure it will be a close fight, but Pascal will do enough to get the nod from the Judges in Montreal. (of course Hopkins, as usual, will be bitching about the decision, and think he won)

I would love for B Hop to win and very surprised at how easy he beat Pascal. Hope he gets some justice this time but doubt Pascal will fight as badly.

IMO Pascal doesn't have the stamina to fight the entire 12 rounds, he's already shown that against both Dawson and Hopkins, IMO B-Hop isn't going to be as careless as he was in the early rounds and just counter Dawson early on, then take him deep and drown him

I hope that BHop whips him but I believe that it will be a close decision. I think that Pascal will shoot out early and try to take him out early but Hopkins is too smart to not see this coming. I am sure that Pascal's camp has him prepared to pressure Bernard and make him fight at a faster pace while not gassing himself out. I am curious to see how the fighters adjust their stratagies in this fight.

In he first half of the fight Pascal could win by KO but he runs out of gas after that so I have it like this, unless he misses his chance for a KO in the early half, Hopkins is going to kick his ass unless Father Time shows up and says to Hopkins, no mas.

i don't know how you figure that, both KD's in the first fight aren't any indication to this, first one wasn't even a real knockdown, and the second one was a flash knockdown and Hopkins wasn't hurt in the slightest, if anything i think B-Hop hurt Pascal more than the other way around especially in the later rounds

Want to know how Pascal would throw Hopkins off completely. If he came out using his jab and trying to counter what Hopkins does instead, making Hopkins lead and trying to counter him and digging to the body whenever he tries to hold. Hopkins SAYS he's gonna come out all guns blazing, but he's smarter then that. Hopkins is hoping to wind Pascal up and survive the early onslaught and hoping that he tires late so he can take the decision. If Pascal comes out and makes the first few rounds close by boxing Hopkins or using his jab and then starting to come on in the middle rounds, it asks more of Hopkins to have to take the fight from him. Do the opposite of what he did the last fight, box early and come on late instead of coming on early and HAVING to try to box late cause you're gassed.

In the 1st fight it looked like Pascal was going to roll to a big decision or even a KO/TKO, but it wasn't long before, to his credit, B-Hop turned the fight totally around. Aside from B-Hop coming back, putting some leather on Pascal, and winning most of the rounds, it looked like Pascal was hurt and gassed.
Also in the first fight, Pascal gave away 5 or 6 rounds, by doing little or next to nothing in the way of offense. For Pascal to win the rematch, he needs to work on his stamina, fight his fight, not B-Hops, and stay busy enough to win 7 rounds, another KD or 2 would be icing on the cake.

Thats an original idea, but I think Pascal is one of these guys, like Jermain Taylor and Antonio Tarver, who ALWAYS gas in the later rounds. They are full of nervous energy and tire themselves down the stretch damn near every time.

I had the last fight a draw and I was shocked that Pascal didn't press the action to try to fatigue Hopkins. But I guess that is who he is.

I guess I'll bet with Father Time and guess Pascal by decision, but I have no conviction I'm right, just a belief Hopkins has to stop at some point...right?

I picked Hopkins to win the first fight and while I'm tempted to do the same...I think Pascal will eek out a decision. I think he'll steal the early rounds with his explosive outbursts(whether they land is a different story) then Hopkins will come on but it'll be too late.
