    Default Spinks v Foreman

The Spinks that beat Cooney v the Foreman that beat Cooney who would win?

I think the Spinks that beat Gerry would have had the style to out box and out work that old George. What do you think?

Foreman in 3 or less. Spinks could barely wake up after Tyson hit him one counter punch. Foreman would be arrested for homicide after fighting Spinks.

What made you think of this matchup Master?

It's might have been possible that Spinks could run, potshot, (like he did against Holmes) and avoid getting KTFO by 'Old' George, but if Big George connected, it would have been lights out.

I remembered the punches Spinks landed on Cooney which were fast and eventally devastating. I thought if he landed them against George he would keep him at bay and win a comfortable decision. George hated movers and if Morrison could win on points and Shultz then surely Spinks could do it too. Holmes could not land a big shot on Spinks too.

I think if Tyson had Spinks fearful? Old George would have had him catatonic prior to the fight. Foreman by DQ during the introductions when Spinks refuses to come out of his corner to receive final instructions.

Crazy....I thought this was going to be Corey Spinks vs Yuri Foreman

Big George would eventually catch and KO Michael.

    Would probably go the distance.

Because Foreman at that point was a bit laborious and predictable, I think Spinks would be given enough chances or warnings to make the choice to fight more negatively and drag the fight out.
How effective at doing it he would be, was probably demonstrated a bit in the Holmes fights but obviously Foreman is a whole different kettle of fish.

Assuming the judges are nice; I'd go with Foreman by a couple of points.

You lot are selling Spinks short for his inept showing against prime Tyson, Michael could handle slow footed fighters like George, I could see him outpoint Big George.

He cheated ol' Larry outta his heavyweight title, then scammed boxing fans for millions against Mike Tyson.

And had a bastard nephew who would go on to cheat Mayorga out of his welterweight title, and then bore us boxing fans for years to come !

To be fair to Spinks, he got dropped from an uppercut to the solarplexus (gotta hurt more than an uppercut in the armpit!) and got back up to FIGHT.
Alot gets said about Spinks taking his time coming into the ring and all the speculation around that but I mean really and truly, once Sinks was in the ring, he was game... Fair play to him. So no, I don't really think Spinks being supposedly scared of Tyson has anything to do with Foreman because
    A) Tyson was freakishly fast & ferocious
    B) Foreman would of been slower and simpler... In comparison to an old Larry Holmes, let alone Iron Mike.
    C) Spinks didn't set out to fight Tyson any differently to any other Heavyweight.

Also, wtf has Tysons 'fear' of Foreman got to do with anything? When was the last time you saw Michael Spinks fighting out of a peak-a-boo stance, making wide side-to-side head movement and working to get inside for 100% of the fight?
All things are relative, Tyson comes to you, spinks moves.
The amount of times I see that old 'fighter A, B, C' verse thrown around yet here we are again...

And yes Michael Spinks was a GREAT Lightheavyweight
