Yeah good point, he's resume looks as good as it possibly could minus the fact that he ducked Lennox Lewis... Not THAT big a deal but it's what stands out more than any of the names ON his resume.

Also, the fact that he had his arse handed to him twice by the legendary Galota says something.

Also also, Lyle once pointed out that he never once face a true heavyweight puncher (Ruddock, Morrison, Lewis & Tyson etc.) and i know that according to Bowe, the hardest he was ever hit was by Herbie Hide... So I really am not sure what to say to that?

Dokes had plenty of power as did Cooper, i mean not Foreman or Tua like power but they weren't pillow punchers, what i'm getting that though is that he gets a lot more heat than he really should, people just were expecting him to be the next Ali and obviously to those expectations he didn't deliver by any means, but compare his resume to the vast majority of the heavies to hold straps since him (Lewis and the Klitschko's aside) and who really has had a better run?

what does Berbick beating Ali have to do with anything? according to his inner circle Muhammad was already showing signs of Parkinsons when he fought Berbick

Bowe sparked Seldon before Tyson did and also in 1 round

Ferguson had just beaten Ray Mercer the fight before he took on Bowe

and Golota although he was winning, decided to go to the speed bags for a reason

I give credit to Bowe for Cooper yeh. He was off blood and guts war with top ranked Mercer then and really knocked Bowe around inside in 1st, landed some good shots and Bowe made solid adjustments. It wasn't the quit job Cooper vs Carl Williams or some say Foreman. Seldon too...he came to win and think Bowe got him much more impressively-willing and fresher than Tyson who basically had to wink at him. But hey Its Seldon...and for as great a jab and hype that he had...his chin was meek to say the least.

Dokes you can chuck out the window. That was horrendous and a disrace of a match up. Fergussen though as much as it seemed a cheepy had "earned" his shot by beating a out of shape Mercer who was up next to meet Bowe. It wasn't great and all but Bowe played the 'clause' there. Can't blame that, blame Mercer. Tubbs was solid and beat Bowe...well sould have. Bowe should have been DQ'd in Mathis fight...watching the ref, commission officials and other members standing around discussing 'how should we rule it' and knocking camera away was damn farcical. Mathis was a gloved man-child just throwing fairy dust at Bowe but man, the dude cold cocked him ugly when he took a knee. Rules is rules Bowe. Bowe was just a trip, not a total waste but almost too much too soon or something. Just re watched an old recorded interview he did with Charlie Steiner from ESPN...huge portion was him showing his floor plans for Mansion, including kitchen in bedroom etc etc. The man just has zippo for focus, easily distracted.

Bowe was lazy, easy to hit, a crybaby, a very sad sign of the times that such a loser could be called heavyweight champ. And he beat Holyfield soundly in 2 of 3 fights, and the other was close.

Yea he went there because the guy is a nutcase, but he was really beating the crap out of Riddick Bowe. I remember in the 2nd fight Andrew Golota landed 70 power punches in the 2nd round, which is unreal considering were on about Heavyweight's.

The 2nd fight really should of been stopped, and it may of saved Riddick Bowe some braincells. The poor guy got battered in that fight and the ref or his corner should of done him a favour.

As for Riddick Bowe as a fighter, he was a terrific inside fighter. But his outside skills were lacking somewhat. Which is strange considering his height Tyrell Biggs, Tony Tubbs, Evander Holyfield 2, gave him alot of problems sticking a moving.

And we all see how badly Andrew Golota destroyed Riddick Bowe from the outside, even if Riddick Bowe was on the slide i think he'd always struggle.

I think by the time Bowe fought Golota he already had minor brain damage though, from the third Holyfield fight.
