3rd Amateur Fight

Heres my third amateur fight for those interested. Greynotsoold has already gave me some great constructive criticism and tips on how to improve. Hopefully will hear some more off you guys (adamGB, Scrap hint hint), always get a great response so thanks in advance.

Your jab. You needed to throw it more in that fight! That kid was throwing wild hooks all you had to do was push a jab in his face and move and you would have won. He was reckless you could have just taken him apart with the jab. In boxing its your best weapon and if your always throwing it out there then you have a good shot at winning. You seemed to lean back abit when throwing shots ond when you being hit is it because you don't like taking a shot? I mean its the enevitable you have to get used to it. Try to keep up right or slightly foward with your chin tucked down. Wish i new how to get my fights on here! I just threw shots and went to war! Good job mate and keep training! What your record?

Just a few things.
1) As a southpaw, you really need to create angles, generally by circling right and jabbing. You can then switch things up by sliding back left and dropping a left hand or right hook. When you don't go straight back, you go to your left, which puts you squarely in front of your opponent.
2) Once you are squarely in front of him, he is free to swarm you because you don't offer anything to make him wary of coming straight in. When you throw a punch, the motion is all forward- all the energy goes in that direction. Every time you throw your left hand, you kill it by pulling your upper body back; that not only steals all the force from the punch, it pulls you out of effective range.
3) Try throwing your jab as a single, serious, hard punch. Really snap it out there, one at a time. When you 'jab' two and three times, you're pawing with it. Really sit down on it, jab as you pivot to the right and don't worry- just yet- about doubling up on it because it isn't helping you right now.
You need to work on breaking that habit of pulling back when you punch and start setting down on 'em a bit or you're going to be constantly trying to deal with guys swarming over you swinging away because you aren't giving them anything to think about on the way in.

Winky Wright wouldn't be a bad place to start. Quite simple and measured so good to learn from.

Haven't watched the fight as I'm on my iphone... But if you get a wild, busy fighter then some stiff straights will disrupt them better than anything more complicated will.

Jab! Double them, tripple them! Good stiff shot will disrupt most wild, thoughtless combos at this level.
