Default Akifumi Shimoda (23-2-1) vs. Rico Ramos (19-0)

Just checking the upcoming schedule on maxbocing and this is headlining on HBO the week after Haye Wlad.

Paul Williams vs Lara is the support fight so I'm guessing these guys must be big stars but Ive never heard of them

Which one are HBO grooming, Shimoda or Ramos?

I literally no nothing about either so really surprised this is headlining above Williams and Lara which on paper looks like it should be a great fight.

Is Ramos or Shimoda expected to be the next big thing?

I've seen Ramos twice at the PRC. He's a very down to earth kid. I wish him all the best, and I hope HBO airs his fight.

Ramos for sure. He is Goosen's second most talented fighter imo after Ward. He was an Olympic alternate and has all kind of skills and really presses the attack. I saw his pro debut and have seen him probably like 10 times since, flew under the radar compared to Danny Jacobs or Fernando Guerrero but I believe he is probably better suited to succeed then either of those guys. Shimoda I know nothing about.

Also, Williams-Lara is definitely the main event this is the support fight. It's a double header and then they are showing highlights of the Arreola fight.

I've seen Ramos a few times, on FNF i think and he's pretty good. Shimoda i have never seen or heard of.
