Waddup y'all,

So now that my hands healed, I've joined a new local gym to get some perspective on things. Got a 1 on 1 with the coach to work mitts, evaluate what I know so far, and any flaws I may have.

Two things I need help with are:

On the basic 1-2, when I throw my straight right, he said I have a tendency to come forward with the punch....I try to invision a pole going through the center of my body, and rotate around that...but it's hard to break old habits.

Do the hips drive around in a circular fashion? Where should I start my mechanics? Trying to invision squashing a bug with the ball of the right as I snap the punch....trying hard not to push the punch.
