What are they??
What are they??
Nice topic here. I'm all about that. Let me start by saying there is nothng better for me then cracking open a nice shite beer like a Coors or a Schlitz ice-ass motherfuqqin cold, and it HAS to be a can not a bottle, and I like to crack that sucker open right about the time when Harold Goat-Voice Lederman is going over the rules of the bout "there'll be NO 3-knockdown rule....". I dont like to start drinking before this because if I DID start earlier I'd be too goddam wasted to even remember the rules of the fight or even the TALE OF THE FUCKING TAPE which I also love that paarticular moment when Jim Limpleyreadds it off and I am taking the first few chugs of beer. AND I DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT STARTING TO MUNCH ON ANYTHING (FOOD-WISE I MEAN
) before the 3rd round. I dont want all that crunching and reaching for the food and trying to find my mouth to distract me from missing anythng about how the first 3 rounds will unfold. By the 4th round I can relax a bit and then whatever I eat has to be somewhat clean not messy, I dont wanna be wiping my fucking mouth going through 40 tissues/napkins, etc., but rather eating something requiring very little hand-eye coordination such as a goddam motherfuckin burrito would be good. Even better if 1 of the fighters is Mexican.
Haha...hahaha.....HAHAHAHAHAHAHAhahahah...oh, you were serious![]()
Joke aside, my choice of food and drink really depend of the boxers. For exemple, I usually go for wine for Pacquiao to "commercial beer" for a young prospect.
I also personally hate sneakers. I instead goes for a full meal that doesn't require my eyes on my plate to like cut my food. So basically, some pasta, pizza or Chinese food.
pizza and vodka
tequila between fights
These days i'm a light-weight, i'll occasionally have a beer or 2 and sometimes a shot of crown, if it's a really good fight. More often then not, i'll just drink a diet-pepsi, alcohol doesn't thrill me much anymore. As for food, i'm usually finished eating for the day by the time fights come on, if I do eat something, it's a light snack, like a couple bites of cheese and a few triscuits, or a handful of fritos corn chips, with a bit of black bean dip.
Pretty fucking boring aren't I.![]()
If it's a big fight early in the morning and I'm with the boys then it's definately a Weed and Red Bull affair. With the nerves that I get before a big fight, the combination of that, the introspective weediness and the I'M PUMPED kicking in from a freshly downed Red Bull is a pretty epic feeling.
Ever seen that film Limitless?![]()

none of my boxing watching mates are around for saturday nights fights which is a pity coz id of liked to have got wrecked
Officially the only saddo who has had a girlfriend
well i have a solution for that. turn on the fight about and about 12 mins b4 the fights starts, turn off a couple lights in the room, get it dark and mysterious, and you'll feel like youre in a theatre of sorts, this will give you less a feeling of being alone, and you can start sippin on a beer, its alright man, just remember we're all with ya during the opening bell moments and beyond.![]()
No alcohol as it is usually about 1pm. It is usually water or good old fashioned Earl Grey tea. I don't have fight nights. I do sometimes indulge in lunch and I like sausages.
If it's a big PPV, and i'm going to have some people over i usually BBQ some tri-tip and some chicken and drink some Newcastle a few hours before the fight. I don't like to be eating while the fight is goign on. If it's a BAD, or FNF type of card i usaully just watch it with a beer or 2 maybe.
nothing better than getting the stellas in and ordering out the night of a big fight
if however its a job like sunday mornings 4am for hopkins pascal, then its normally just snacks and a few beers
one dangerous horrible bloke
