At 135 Duran beats everyone and 147 vs PBF it's interesting, but I tell you, as good as Floyd is at winding people up Roberto Duran was better. When Leonard-Duran 1 happened, SRL thanked Duran for making the fight happen and Roberto promptly cursed at SRL and spit at his wife. I think Duran is too tough for Floyd, solid inside fighter, top notch boxer, great chin, and could play dirty with anyone...just ask Buchannan.

As for Floyd vs SRL...it's a tough call. Floyd's defense is better, but Ray's offense was very good. Quick hands, great combination puncher, great speed, underrated pop. If Shane Mosley can catch and hurt Floyd then I think Ray can finish it off.

I will say this, if Tommy Hearns caught Floyd with a clean shot the way Judah and Mosley have it would be GOODNIGHT SWEETHEART!

Floyd vs Whittaker is one that's tough to call as well.

Floyd will be compared to all these guys from here on...he's a top notch fighter, I don't like his attitude, but there's no denying his skill.

Leonard opens up a can of whoop ass on Floyd, no doubt about it.

Duran beats the living shit out of Floyd anywhere besides 147...

I think at the end of the day Floyds career will be looked at wth many of those, and the woulda, coulda's. Dude has supreme defense but I honestly don't think Pac will happen let alone Martinez. Floyd has burned away much of his primetime and he's seriously going to regret that 'retirement' after highlight of Hatton win imo.

Yes ive seen them all fight duran, srl, hearns, and mayweather beats them all theres noway duran wins floyd compleatly out boxes him to a wide ud win, srl got skills but floyd is just on another level ud again, with hearns its closer but i still think floyd by ud but hearns has the best chance of beating him out these 3 guys, its only my opinion but i honestly can say floyd is the best boxer iver ever seen on tv.

Mayweather v Duran - at 135 nobody beats Duran and Floyd loses on the cards. But at 147 floyd outboxes duran, timing of the fight plays a role like the SRL fight. I don't know if floyd can keep a fully motivated Duran off of him.

Mayweather v Leonard - I think leonard wins 6/10 times. Floyd has timing and leonard keeps that left hand low so hes open to floyds right all night. but leonard has speed and took right hands from a prime hearns. Leonard would get floyd on the ropes and throw some flurrys and floyd doesn't throw enough and fights a very conserved fight losing on the cards. Or Floyd catches leonard with quick rights taking no risks, pure counter punching and takes the decision.

Floyd is very skilled and smart so both fights are winnable for him, hes too good to be badly beaten and stopped.

I actually think Mayweather does well against both Duran and Leonard, his big problem would be Hearns!

Versus Duran : At 135 i pick Duran in a close decision. At 147 i pick Mayweather.
Versus Leonard : I think Mayweather could pick up a win here, what a chess match.

Versus Hearns : Now this is interesting, Mayweather is a master of defence, but could he hold out against the height and power of Hearns for 12 rounds? Mayweather might be able to perform similar to Leonard in the first fight, but he is 2 inches shorter than Leonard and Tommy Hearns would tower over Floyd by 5 inches in height!
    Tommy KO's Floyd!

Mayweather V Whitaker would see us all book into a rehab centre due to total confusion, disorientation and possible onset dementia! You would have more chance working out the plot to Inception than picking a winner here.

Duran mutilates Floyd at lightweight but above that Floyd wins.
Leonard beats Floyd at welterweight, he was a real great.

SRL had no trouble with dealing with defensive fighters, see the Wilfred Benitez fight. Or even when Floyd Mayweather Sr tried the shoulder roll vs SRL and failed to be effective.

Roberto Duran at 135 would be too much for Floyd Mayweather Jr, if Floyd Mayweather Jr struggled with JLC then i don't see him beating Roberto Duran.

I think people forget that the 2nd fight with JLC, wasn't a blowout either one of the biggest myths i've seen. The fight was pretty even until the last 2 rounds Floyd Mayweather Jr only won 7-5 max.

I think they both beat Floyd in their primes for the simple reason that they both fought great fighters, they were busier, they tested themselves and came out on the other side. Compare that to Mayweather's legacy of avoidance. No steel without fire, you can't be considered an all time great with Mayweather's undeniable avoidance of tough fights (it isn't just him I put most of today's fighters in that category). I give Hearns the edge as well.

That one post about greatest of all time was completely mystifying. Where is Mayweather's fight against a Duran in his prime? Which of his opponents compares to a Hearns in his prime. Maybe Corrales or Castillo gives Benitez in his prime a competitive fight but that is it. How can you even pretend to know that Mayweather is an all time great?

I'm going to go and look and some fights of Duran. But why is people saying Floyd has no chance at 135? I thought it was the best Floyd vs the best Duran? Saying that, no one is giving Duran a chance at 147. Why? Is Floyd that much better at 147? Or Duran didn't carry weight that good? Was Floyd on the rise at 135 and not yet peaked? Is thats why Duran will beat him? Let's just say they fought at 140. Who wins?
