In case you harlots missed it, here's the Kovalev knockout of Cornelius White. Kovalev is trained by John David Jackson.
He looks like bruiser. Cleverly - Kovalev anyone?

Did a whole rbr thread on this last night. He really dropped the hammer on him.
He's what we need more of. Impressed so far but I won't go overboard like Freddy Roach (he is the best prospect in boxing today). Very solid arsenal of combo punching and doesn't fall in love with one but resets and stays focused. Hell of a finisher. Called out Hopkins lastnight "because I want to touch him in the ring"
Have to love that.
Here's a post fight interview with Kovalev & JD Jackson.

I'd like to see Hopkins-Kovalev...but I doubt it happensKovalev is one of those high risk, low reward type of fighters.
On a side note, Sergey's old amateur rival Matvey Korbov fought on the Garcia-Lopez undercard, stopping the very durable Ossie Duran in 3.
IBF Ordered Hopkins to fight Kovalev if he wants to keep his belt. I wonder if he'll do it.
Just caught his response...he accepts it and "looks forward to it".
I'm going to go somewhere I never have in Hopkins entire run...I think Kovalev wears him down and knocks him outHe's young in career but its a horrendous style for a pure boxer, let alone one near 50. I'm always weary of hype...but this smells like trouble.
I read Kovalev-Cleverly is close. I think that's a great match-up too.
