3/23/13- Malinga UD 12 Diarh Gabutan- eliminator for #2 spot in the IBF's bantamweight rankings

5/11/13- #1 ranked McDonnell MD 12 #3 ranked Julio Ceja- McDonnell wins vacant IBF world bantamweight title; winner of McDonnell-Ceja has six months before he must defend against Malinga

Enter what appears to be a messy divorce with Hobson with 1 month left before the fight should have been made and the IBF acted.

Hobson got him the title, he gave Hobson the elbow, Hobson got it took back off him

Hobson shelled out alot of cash to get McDonnell a title shot at the Keepmoat and stood to lose alot if Jamie lost. It was a huge risk so must have felt like a kick in the balls when Jamie tried to elbow him. McDonnell has screwed himself here. If he'd stayed with Hobson, or sorted out his promotional situation earlier, he may have had his first defence arranged.

Hobson my well have shelled out the money,! but Mc Donnell was taking the punches to
the head, Dennis may have taken a financial hiding, but Jamie was taking the true hiding
in that boxing ring.
