The winner of Pascal/Bute?
Ward, if Ward would meet at a catchweight, or at light heavyweight?
Kovalev?
Froch, if Froch would meet at a catchweight, or at light heavyweight?

If im stevenson, Im 36 years old and time is running out therefore, id try to get the biggest money fight possible whether that be hopkins, bute or froch... from his position, I can see why he's in no rush to face kovalev.. he wants to get paid and kovalev doesnt bring that.. too risky
But as a fan, I want to see the kovalev first and foremost.. it would be an injustice to the sport if this bout doesnt get made within a year..
People need to put Kovalev right out of their minds right now. You can count the number of punchers that fought each other in their primes over the past 50 years on one hand. It just doesn't happen. No way do these two fight now in this extremely micromanaged era. If its one thing these handlers know its where their supper hangs. Even Kovalev said it was up to his promoter and only said Stevenson when Max pushed him. He was in Quebec after-all. I think Hbo will do everything in its power to divert Adonis away from a unification with Hopkins. Hbo is starting to tread water and Arum is starting to run out of headliners. They want some more highlight reels out of Adonis ending if all goes well with a mega clash with Kovalev down the line.
@Rantcatrat interesting angle on the Pascal/Bute winner. Adonis is taking a holiday and the winner of that fight will become his next mandatory which is most likely Pascal. That would be huge in Quebec and an all Haitian/Canadian battle but I'm not sure they'd want to fight each other. Who knows though, Jean could lose another shoulder in the Bute fight. Either way he has an optional and a unification with Bernard has got to look pretty tempting. I'm not keen on it but its probably at the top of the list. Not only that, the division is getting a little thin in the draw unless a few super mids jump up. Maybe Kov makes a unification attempt of his own against Shumenov. I think both parties will try to find one or two fights prior to a Kov/Adonis showdown but I think they both might find they have ran out of opponents. In a perfect world I guess they both unify and then fight for the first lh undisputed title in quite some time.
Summer clash with Pascal after he deals with Bute is the fight that makes sense.
Obviously if he could tempt Froch up then that's the best fight for him but I really don't see Froch moving up.

He should retire Hopkins and unify some belts.
The winner of Bute/Pascal should be next. Financially it makes the most sense for him. I expect Pascal to win that and since Pascal & Stevenson have the same promotor that would be an easy fight to make.
I understand the push for a Kovalev fight but that would be a bigger fight next summer and I'd prefer Kovalev to take another fight too in the interim. Maybe a former champion like Braemer or Erdei or maybe a fight with Grachev.
if i were stevenson i would either fight the winner of bute/pascal or hopkins. both of those would help him a lot for different reasons. froch would be an alright fight but i bit more dangerous i think. kovalev is a very dangerous fight and not maybe not the best fight for him at the moment. on the flip side, i believe that stevenson is probably the ideal opponent for kovalev.
Whoever is putting up the most money...

Froch, because that's the biggest money fight that he can win.
Bhop will embarrass him.
if i was Stevenson i would be gunning for froch
im not sure id like to see him fight froch though, i am a big froch fan and watching him get beat up last time im not sure he has that kind of fight left in him
im not sure a fight with ward or froch has to be at a catch weight does it? cant he make super middleweight?
and id really like to see the kolerov fight
Officially the only saddo who has had a girlfriend
Agree with everything this guy said. If I was Stevenson I'd go for the money fights and he seems to be calling out the older slower guys so he has the right idea.
From a. Fans perspective I want to see him in with kovalev. I also wanna see Ward in with Kov or Golovkin instead of fighting once a year against a guy who has no hope of winning.
As fans we should be be calling for the fights we want to see instead of the fights the boxers want. Not saying froch vs Stevenson is a bad fight cuz it isn't but I'd rather see an up and comer get a chance
Stevenson takes time off.
Fights Bernard around May 2014. Unifies and becomes 2 belt champion. WBC/IBF
Kovalev takes time off.
Fights Shumenov around May 2014. Unifies and becomes 2 belt champion. WBA/WBO.
They meet at the end of the year or early 2015.
I'd love to see just one truly undisputed champion of a division before I reach the great beyond. That is to say all 4 pieces. I think mandatory fights may get in the way but this is real possible given the lack of marquee fights at 175 w/o super mids going up.
He should get rid of any mandatory fights and keep active with Kovelov or Hopkins because should he get one of those wins he stands to be more negotiable and sought out because as we all know money talks but promoters are also flies in the ointment.
Stevenson should beat up winner of Bute/Pascal, then Kovalev and then B Hop.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
I agree with what most others her have said - take the money fights before meeting Kovalev.
The Pascal/ Bute winner or Froch would be my first choices if I'm Stevenson, Hopkins definitely brings the money but also a very difficult task
Ward has stated he is a year away from moving to 175 so he may meet the winner of Stevenson/ Kovalev...
