Juan Manuel Marquez seems not really interested in the Pacquiao 5th fight. What could be his main reason of not fighting Pacquiao again?

He feels the rivalry is over and doesnt want to ruin it by risking another fight.. smart move..

He's already a multi multi millionaire and few million dollars more isnt going to make much difference in his life.. satisfaction of knowing that u defeated ur arch enemy and the legacy is more important ..

What if there was a 5th fight and marquez lost by decision.. do we need a 6th fight? This shit would never end....

It was a clean knockout and the only knockout in their rivalry so its over.. marquez would be foolish to fight pac again..

Probably that he doesn't want to make millions of dollars again. I mean if I'm confident that I can beat an opponent and make millions of dollars off of it I wouldn't fight him either right?

I think he knows that he was getting the shit beat out of him in that fight despite actually knocking manny down for the first time in 4 fights. his nose was broken and face was a bloody mess. I'm sure that he knows that fight manny went all out and if he didn't land that punch to knock him out he would've for sure lost either by wide unanimous decision or stoppage. For the record I think marquez won the 3rd fight but he was getting the crap beat out of him the 4th. He doesn't want the fight because with out that punch he would've lost and he knows he probably won't land it again.

It's difficult to top his spectacular KO6 performance in the 4th fight (can he KO Pacquiao in 5 or less rounds?). Why risk of losing some luster of that spectacular KO?

You would have to be pretty slow in the head to want to fight pacman again and marquez aint dumb. He's an accountant so he knows how to weigh shit..

Beating him 4 times is enough. Marquez sees no point in beating him 5 times

If there is a principle involved, could be that he's not willing to accept a much smaller cut than Pac would be getting again? Or just knowing that Arum won't pay him what he could or should do. Of course having the huge KO to close the books on their rivalry is something, but we're talking about a prizefighter here. If Bob Arum told him he'd make the fight next and there would be a 50/50 purse split, Marquez would probably sign on that day. Why else fight at all? He has nothing to prove and is an ancient featherweight. Who else can he make close to the money against.

Your spot on. The other fights were close i agree, but before that ko, he was getting mashed up. I think age is catching up and he aint getting younger. Another fight with pac would be very dangerous for him, because of age, and the fact that it will be a flat out war. I think pac skills have not diminished as much as jmm. A rematch would be a pac tko or stoppage imo, unless jmm comes in 20 pounds heavier (angel), then it will be a tko.

Pac actually has diminished just as much as JMM if not more. JMM is technically a superb fighter. Pac's biggest advantage was always his athleticism. But Manny has slowed down considerably. I know some people want to make his performance against Rios bigger than it is...but i actually think he has been slipping for quite sometime. AGAIN...i don't care if he was busting up Marquez before he got knocked the fuck out. JMM trained for that kind of fight. He knew he would take more punishment looking to land that one KO punch. End of the day...Marquez won the fight emphatically. And lets not forget...Marquez not only seems content with his career...he seems to be financially stable. While he might not be the big draw Pac is...he doesn't owe his government a shit load of money in taxes. Marquez doesn't need Pac. But of course for all the Pac jockers...they can always fall back on the "one in a million" punch excuse

I have to agree with this and add:
They fought 4 times! F.O.U.R. I understand why Pacquiao doesn't want to end on this note, but then again... Tough luck. I mean seriously, 3 fights was actually already enough but they wanted to roll the dice one more time. Pacquiao's team probably figured he could take the aged Marquez. Well they guessed wrong. There comes a time when you just gotta let it go.
