Default Your actual weight class vs favourite weight class

My actual weight class (6foot> - 15.5 stone - 220lbs) is heavyweight but would happily get down to crusier/light heavy as im eating like a pig at the moment with all this overtime at work so my natural weight is around 14>

My favourite weight class (surprise, surprise) is welterweight.

What fighting weight class do you think you would fall into and what is your favourite weight class to watch.

    Cheers.

Same here. Welter is probably my favourite division but I like anything between super bantam to super middle equally just depending on whose fighting. I'm right about 5'10 150 pounds, could actually make lightweight quite easily

10 stone 7 lb welterweight ready to kick Floyd's ass and knock that smile from his face. It would be the best weight if Floyd v Manny, Bradley v khan, maidana v Marquez, prov v Thurman, etc could get made

When I competed it was at middle or welter depending on time of year. I had to drop around 20lbs from the football and basketball seasons to make middle.(amateur middleweight) Towards the end of my "boxing season" I could sneak into welter(amateur welter) before I had to start putting weight back on for football again. I was at my best at welter but being 6'3" I would have outgrown it if my accident hadn't forced me to stop.

    What accident did you have?

What is it about welterweight that is so interesting.?!

Taking floyd out the picture, would it still be the most exciting and best division to watch?

I know the fighters themselves make the excitement and the interest but is 147 more about floyd (and pac as well) or is there just something magical about it...

I like it because it always seems to have new talented fighters rising up. Once you get below lightweight there just aren't enough guys that small to draw fighters from. Once you get above lightheavy guys aren't as dynamic. The light middleweight-light heavyweight area seems to go through highs and lows. But welterweight, tell me a time it was dry for more than 2 years because I can't think of one.

As for your previous question, I had a bad car wreck. Stuff happens, we move on. Play with the cards you're dealt and all that.

If I got in to shape I'd be a Super Middleweight (5'11, just over 175lbs in my current shape)

Favourite, at least right now, is Flyweight no questions asked.

I'm 5'10 and between 160 and 165. I'm a natural middleweight but there is no way I could fight there. I dont sport much body fat but I'd probably have to melt down to 147 to be competitive. I'd probably look like Morales did on the scales when he fought at 122 at the weigh in. Grim death.

I've always been partial to the traditional 8. Less garbled. Less confusion. I can see the need for more titles even though I hate it. Bit of a mathematical imperative. People would spend there entire career on the bench for a shot. Just add forced unification once every few years and I'll be happy. Not convinced we needed more divisions though.

135, 147 and 160 have always been my favourites.

I am 6'2" tall, 49 years old. When I was 19, 20, I boxed at 156. The most I have ever weighed was 216, very briefly. I weigh 188 right now, and I could make 175 next week. I could fight at 168 and be in great shape.

I weigh around 15 - 15-7 .. If I got into good shape a bit more I'd should be cruiser.. If I was nails I could get down to light heavy but that would be huge ask for me. I've never been any lighter than that as an adult even in my teens when I had zero fat on me.

My favourite division historically wa middleweight. Fantastic athletes at that weight, naturally normal size men at peak fitness. Super Middle changed that a bit in 84 -90 when it was introduced and has produced some great fighters (such as Froch).

But I have a real romance for Middleweights. I am hoping Golovkin stays at the weight and makes it a big big attraction again as it used to be.

Honourable mentions are obviously Welterweight and Junior Welterweight, c racking fighters there at the mo', and Light Heavy has some good fighters at world strap level at the mo'.. Kovalev is a beast ..

Grey, do you have any videos of you sparring or fighting?

You seem to have been a proper boxer and a good trainer.

I'm 6' and weigh 168 right now. 160-162 is about my best weight.

Anyway, I guess my favorite division is Jr. Middle, just to be different. lol

    5'8" 176 so cruiser just.

Could easily make flyweight, cause I'm batman.

Fav weight is welterweight or super middle.
