ali would have won the rematch in 5 roounds, but no doubt Liston took a dive. Rocky Marciano was seated 2 rows in right next to the knockdown, and he said it did not appear to have enugh steam to result in Liston flopping around the floor like adrian broner after Maidana butted him. Jack Dempsey was also there and said it didnt look legit.
I will take Marciano and Dempseys word for it. Liston knew he couldnt win, so he took a dive.

Sorry Brock took me off course. The first fight was not fixed Liston tried his hardest to win and even resorted to cheating against Ali to get the win. When that did not work he quit rather than get stopped. If you watch the first round of that fight Ali jumps on Sonny and he was the aggressor which is amazing.Originally Posted by ruthless rocco

just noticed it was for the first fight.... does make you wonder how Ali fought a whole round blind against the mike tyson of his day so maybe there is alittle truth in it 10 to 1 where the odds on Ali i think i remember hearing somewhere
