I cannot say I am very impressed. You are 32, GGG with 4 years left...maybe....go for the big fights now! What are you waiting for?

For someone to man up and agree to fight him. What's he supposed to do ?

At least ggg is keeping active unlike many other fighters in his position. Usually people in his position wait for a big fight and fight maybe once a year. None of the bigger names want to fight him so he is taking out the next best while he waits. You can't fault him for that.

We all want to see the titles unified but different promoters, TV networks and avoiding there is nothing a champion can do but keep busy and defend against the best available fighters.

Sulaiman: Golovkin-Rubio Winner in Line For Cotto - Boxing News

Its a belt unification fight as Rubio has the interim WBC belt, and the winner will go on to fight Cotto.

Rubio has lost a lot of fights. I don't see what he has to offer at all. GGG needs big fights and at 32 he is good at staying busy and adding filler, but I expect more. I don't buy the excuse that noone will fight him.

who do you think will realistically fight him at 160?

There are a lot of good fights if he steps up in weight or calls someone else up. I think GGG is a fantastic fighter, but at this stage he should be going for big fights. He is in his prime and has maybe 3 or 4 years to really hammer some names on the resume. He reminds me a little of Calzaghe in the sense that he wants to stay in a division, but he isn't being challenged enough. I don't see how Rubio will last 4 rounds TBH. It's tough for Golovkin. MW had a lot of good fighters a few years ago, but the division has weakened. I just think he has to call out names and maybe get them up or go down a little to get them.

I wish there were more fighters like Rubio who will fight anyone, anywhere and anytime. He never needed to even take this fight. He could fight somebody else and wait for the mandatory shot with Cotto which will be after Cottos next fight. He;s wise in that he knows Cotto will most likely bolt and retire first or find a way to usurp the system and fight another major cash fight so he decided to accept a fight with the bogeyman.I'd also wager that the other two so-called champions would never fight Rubio either so props to the Kazak for taking a guy he never needed to fight.

Are the big boys just unwilling to fight GGG?

Solimon is fighting Taylor. Cotto either Lee or another 154 fighter for the 160 belt. Quillin fighting Korobov who is decent but hasnt looked particularly good in his latest fights. This pretty much answers your question.

I give Rubio a ton of credit. I bet he gives GGG his roughest go as of yet. GEnnady will wear him out but not before Marco makes him work for it. I might drive to Carson for this one as it will probably be the cheapest GGG ticket from here on out.

Rubio is a tough veteran on a good winning streak but to be honest, I don't think that he does bring enough on the table to stop the human wrecking ball. That should be another win via KO for Triple G

No doubt Genaddy beats him down, but I would be surprised if it's as lopsided as the Geale fight. Rubio will take way more.
