Default Matthysse is back in action this weekend

hes up against unbeaten Mexican Roberto Ortiz (31-0-1) I cant say I have heard of him though, so I cant pass judgement on him. I have read that Lucas wants a rematch with Garcia...does anybody see that happening?

Roberto Ortiz looks like a good fighter. He's also taller than Mathysse. It should be a good and exciting fight. Ill go with Mathysse Sd. Mathysse then beats Broner if the judges dont screw him

I just noticed Matthysse is fighting this weekend. Haven't heard of his opponent so should be a near gimme tune up.

But, the Molina fight was supposed to be a near gimme tune up too.

A warm up against an unbeaten fighter for Matthysse v Broner would be good.

The big two - Mayweather and Pacquiao will be remembered as the two best fighters of this generation.

However, it is fighters like Cotto who have made things exciting over the past ten plus years.

I'm personally grateful for having Matthysse, Providnikov and Maidana on the scene currently. They may not be the marquee names, but they are the backbone for a soli era in the 140/147 division.

Bit worrying that Matthysse was getting decked last time, even though they weren't heavy knockdowns, considering he'd never been over before (had nowhere to go but down against Garcia).

    31-0 Mexican? Nice "gimme"

Broner-Matthysse would be great. Win or lose that boy is gonna feel pain.

I agree. His last fight was concerning. I feel like that Garcia fight took a lot out of him...not sure if he will ever be the same fighter.

I was shocked by Garcias chin during that fight. Lucas had to fight with one hand as thatfight approached the middle rounds. He was trying to protect himself as he couldn't see anything coming from that side. Does anyone remember if that was initiated by a headbutt or was that Dannys clobbering. That was probably one of Floyds best fights as far as the undercards go.

I think Broner v Lucas would go similar to Maidana v Broner. I agree, it would be a fight I would love to see. Im still not sure if Broner is going to be anywhere near as good as his mouth is, the guy has talent but I don't know if he can reach elite status but it will be fun to watch where he ends up.

I think Broner has the goods to hold a belt again, if he doesn't let his ego overload his ass.
He's like most people who think they're great at multitasking, in the long run everything suffers, he should put the singing away and concentrate on the boxing.
The most irksome thing about Broner is his mouth, when the guy gets going he comes off as a smarmy braggart. A Uriah Heep with attitude. If he just shut his mouth he would be much better off.
