Default How to throw a hook from your front hand

Now the damned southpaws have manged to make the English language confusing...
Watch the very start of this fight. Toney comes out, makes a move to creat the opening for the hook and then throw it text book; watch where his weight ends up. If you watch the rest of the fight, you'll see how to throw short hard punches in combination, shifting your weight at close range. You'll learn how to slide back, turn angles and get weight behind your punches as you do so.

Grey he threw that front LH of the lead foot. See his weight shifting to the front leg when he turns his right shoulder out.

Wrong, his weight shifts back as the hook releases and he hop steps with it. Immediately after the hook lands, he shifts weight forward again and slips left. You need weight on the front foot at the start of the hook, but at the end it's on the back foot.

Freddy was a tough prick going out like that he tried everything he could under the circumstances. James looked stronger and smarter from the start nice vid mate cheers. You can tell Toney can feel where an opening is when tied inside with out hardly having to look, he just knows when he hits home on a spot, his immediate reaction is to fire into the reverse gap thats left by Freddies reaction to his first shot and his legs just flow him into more angles.Dudes a craftsman. That was deep water Freddy got taken into you gotta give him credit though he tried every stroke to stay afloat.

He was poetic in the way he put those punches together inside. When he fought Holyfield it was like he was playing an instrument. James Toney may have had discipline issues with his weight, but he never neglected his craft.
