Default Why do people seem to view Bradley as some weakling?

He seems to have this unwarranted perception as some pansy ass fighter who taps his opponent and runs around the ring all night e.g. Cory Spinks. Not exactly from this board, but fans in general...I swear people don't even watch actual fights that take place and just come up with generalizations.

Bradley is a good boxer and very entertaining to watch. Hes been in some brawls and came out victorious almost all the time. Showed he has heart, a good chin and ready to fight anyone. Not sure how people can hate on that. He's not the hardest hitting fighter in the world, but that's no reflection of his heart.

Because he is. He has no pop.

I've never seen anyone question his heart? He doesn't have a big punch but he's obviously very strong in the ring, he gets hit but never pushed around or anything. I don't view him as a great technical boxer, so I think maybe some people overstate the extent to which he "chooses" to go to war, but that's about my only knock on the guy.

Bradley is as tough as they come, it is just that he also has good smarts too when he puts them to use. A very good fighter is our Timothy.

This is true in boxing more than any other sport. Loads of keyboard warriors who watch f all boxing and just go with what the media spits out. Rigo and Ward get the worst of it.

I don't think anyone sees him as a weakling. He's, quite rightly, not regarded as a heavy puncher - a fact that is obvious from the lack of knockouts on his record.

Bradley is a tough guy who comes to fight, gives it everything and is entertaining to watch. I like him, but for those of us who like the potential danger a big puncher brings to the ring, Bradley is never going to capture the imagination. There's no getting away from his lack of power.

I don't see Bradley as a weakling, I just don't think he's heavy handed. he can certainly take a punch , he's proved that more times than he should've done probably. I've said in the past, I can't understand why he's not more popular in the States.
I think he's one of the very best out there, and although I believe he's too reckless, it's probably because of that I love watching his fights. The crazy thing is that he doesn't need to be so exciting, he has loads of skill , as he proved against JMM.
while everybody is (as usual) banging on about who Floyd Should fight next, I don't think that there is anybody who deserves it more or is better qualified if I'm honest.

When Floyd savaged both Corrales first and then Gatti... Floyd's rep went WAY up. But Bradley has not savaged anyone like that, ever.

It looks crazy considering how muscular he is.
Credit worthy top notch boxer though.

    Right now Bradley beats:

    Khan
Porter (easily, even if he overengages)
Thurman (probably the toughest because of styles)
    Brook

Dont think he beats Brook or Khan and would be 50/50 with Thurman. Porter would be a good fight but I think Bradley takes it

All of those fights are really hard to call imo, the only guy I'd really favour over Bradley is Brook. Khan could outbox him, but as Algeri showed you don't actually need a punch to play the puncher against Khan these days, and Bradleys tendency to brawl might actually make him more effective there. With Porter you would expect Bradley to be to skilled, but Porter would probably the biggest strongest guy he's every fougt. Thurman has never fought anyone nearly as good and has looked shaky in spots, so that's another pick em.

If he stops getting put on queer street by gatekeeper level talents then he'll get his rep back. But he's been seriously hurt many times, there is a decent chance his best days are gone.
