What if, instead of Cus, Tyson was trained by Eddie Futch?
Or, let's say that Futch trained Tyson after he got out of prison.
In either of these scenarios, what would have changed?

Guys need to learn how to fight to their natural physical gifts, and I think it's safe to say that Cus' peekaboo style was absolutely PERFECT for Tyson, and vice versa. Cus formed Tyson from such a very young age mentally and physically, so it's impossible to tell what would have become of Tyson if it wasn't for Cus. In Tyson, Cus created the perfect fighting machine so it's really hard to imagine how Futch or anyone else could have done any better with him.
Maybe Futch could have been more help to him when he got out of prison. Futch did a great job of keeping Bowe in line for awhile before Riddick stopped listening to him. Would Tyson have bought in and stayed in line with Futch at the helm, or was he just too far gone at the time? Who knows. Tyson could have had any trainer he wanted in the game, so for him not to seek out a guy like Futch, to me that says Tyson wasn't going to be receptive to a hard ass who demanded accountability from him.

I think D'Mato made Tyson a dynamic fighter and the speed and explosive power he had made him very special.
Eddie Futch would have slowed Tyson down a bit, have him be more of a Joe Frazier kind of pressure fighter and while he'd still KO guys because of the handspeed and the power, he'd eat more punches doing it and he'd be a little more stiff moving in.
Yeah but again like I said, was Tyson willing to listen to Futch?
Bowe listened to Futch for awhile, and then Futch lost his handle on him.
I think Tyson was too wild at the time and wasn't going to benefit from Futch.
I think Futch would have said "Fuck this" and left.

Cus and Tyson were meant to be and made a great team or would have if he lived to see him become champion. After prison, there was no one who could make Tyson back to his invincible self.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
Yes, it's so funny to watch Kevin Rooney fights and see him using the style. No punching power, no athleticism, Tyson really was meant for it!

I think it would have been worse.
Tyson had a really great team. Not sure who came when and who left when- From Atlas, Rooney to Giachetti-I thought they all at some point played a great part in his life.
And if Futch had been around when Don King got rid of all those who reared Tyson. He would probably still be in a prison.
Futch IMO was better for a guy like a Frazier- someone who had some control over their life- and just needed honing of the skills. Not how to be a man.
All's lost! Everything's going to shit!
If Futch had trained Tyson, assuming Eddie would risk the potential aggravation, and that Mike would listen.....
There would have been no time wasted trying to find the " old" Tyson. Futch would have stopped him being so square up and got him more sideways, left shoulder out front. That puts his head six inches or more further away from an opponent's jab and that helps a town reflexes that aren't what they once were. The shoulder out front would make it easier to execute what has to be the Eddie Futch signature move; rolling inside a right hand a coming back with a right uppercut. Every Futch fighter but Frazier used that move.
He would have Tyson always shading to his own right- easier to slip in then weave out to the right, out of range. Plus, he would want those tall heavies turning over their lead foot, not moving behind it, like if Tyson were in front of them. He would be wanting those guys punching across themselves to give Mike a better shot to make a move and land something big.
