Default Will you watch Tarver-Hopkins, or the Cotto PPV?

It sucks that they would do this to us boxing fans. I'm always interested in seeing two up and coming undefeated fighters go at it. But, if this is Hopkins' last fight (he claims it is) then my loyalties lie there. From the ringwalk to the post fight interview, I must ride with X.

Not for nothing, the sport is really gonna miss him when he's gone.

Some people dont steal things / and DLing and watching on the computer, (probably having heard the result whether u wanted to or not somewhere) , is about 10% as much satisfaction as you get from watching it live not knowing what is gonna happen i think.

Well not to split hairs but personally if you hand over $59 to watch Hopkins and Tarver I would say that HBO are stealing from you

And I'm from the UK anyways so I can't get access to any of these fights regardless so I have to download if I want to watch them at all.

I really wanna watch that Cotto - Paulie fight card. Duddy's on it too. I'm not gonna lie, I kinda wanna see Tarver - Hopkins though. If both fighters come to actually fight, that would be a good fight. And since Tarver bet 250K that he would knock out Bernard Hopkins by 5, he's gotta fight. But I don't wanna chance blowing money on something that could turn out to be a 12 round slow dance.

I'm sorry, I just don't see Hopkins and Tarver possibly putting on $50 worth of fight. Despite having bought Hopkins-Taylor 1, I convinced myself the second one would be different and worth the money, which, needless to say, it wasn't. I like B-Hop, respect him, but at this point in his career he just doesn't make a fight very fun to watch. And I don't think Tarver will either.

I have no interest in seeing Hopkins-Tarver, Hopkins should retire. If he wins, great, I'm a fan but I can't see that being a good fight.

I'm interested in the Cotto-Malignaggi fight, and If I had to chose one I'd choose the Cotto PPV. Still, why is that a PPV fight? Not really PPV level IMO, the undercard better be good.

It's not up on HBO's site, and if they're on the same night, there's no way HBO's going to cut into its Tarver-Hopkins PPV profits by showing another fight for free on its normal channel. I don't know where that Cotto fight is showing.

The Cotto fight is just gonna be on regular PPV. Like Margarito's last fight was. Either HBO or Showtime took the fight because they didn't offer enough money. Actually, I think HBO offered the right amount but wanted to move the fight to Friday, the day before Tarver:Hopkins.

I'd rather watch Cotto-Paulie, but I don't think I'll spend money on either, when both fights will be replayed on HBO the following week. I'm the live fight kind of guy also, but not for these fights at 50+ dollars.

    Cotto-Malignaggi undercard!

    Monday, March 27 2006

June 10 is on fire -- the super-steamed Miguel Cotto vs. Paulie Malignaggi showdown at Madison Square Garden will include the pro debut of Notre Dame football player Tommy Zbikowski and a middleweight title defense for Irish sensation John Duddy, announced Bob Arum of Top Rank today. Cotto, Malignaggi, Duddy and Tommy Z will be at a Top Rank press conference at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Wednesday. The Cotto vs. Malignaggi card on June 10 will include:
--Kevin Kelley, the Flushing Flash, 58-6-2, 39 KOs.
--Irish John Duddy, 16-0-0, 14 KOs. The sensational, hard-punching middleweight will make the first defense of his WBC/Continental Americas title.
--Notre Dame defensive back Tommy Zbikowski of Arlington Heights, Ill. This will be the pro debut for Tommy Z, a heavyweight. He is going into his senior year for the Fightin' Irish football team. When he played at Buffalo Grove, Ill. High School, Tommy was a quarterback and was named USA Today first-team All-America and was selected the Chicago Player of the Year.
--The Son of the Legend, Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr., 24-0-1, 18 KOs, Culiacan, Mexico.
--Hot featherweight prospect Juan Manuel Lopez, 10-0, 9 KOs, of Caguas, Puerto Rico.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Arum said he plans to have six bouts on the Top Rank Pay Per View telecast. "It's an exciting card from top to bottom," Arum said. "We all know what Paulie has been saying about Miguel Cotto so I'm anxious to see how that plays out when the two get into the ring. Everyone wants to see Tommy Zbikowski of Notre Dame on June 10. Bruce Trampler (TR matchmaker) told me Tommy had a lot of amateur fights. This will be Tommy's first professional fight." Tickets are $300, $200, $100 and $50 and are now on sale at Madison Square Garden.
