Default NBC Fight Night: Figueroa Jr- DeMarco and Arreola- Kauffman

This card starts in a few minutes on Nbc sports with undercard bouts and switches to regular NBC at 8PM. They are calling it a marathon card but frankly could end up quantity over quality. Not sure of the line up order but match ups are as follows

Hugo Centeno Jr. 23-0 vs Josue Ovando 14-7-1 Spr Middles

Terrell Gausha 16-0 vs Said El Harrak 12-3-2 Spr Middles

Mario Barrios 13-0 vs Manuel Vides 18-4 Jr. Light

Lanell Bellows 13-0 vs Michael Gbenga

Somewhere the comic relief comes as Victor Ortiz has another "comeback" vs a jr. lightweight in Gilberto Sanchez Leon....Jr Middles. Call me a premature cynic but whoever approved this set up should be flogged in public and charged with aiding and abetting an assault.

In co main Chris Arreola 36-4-1 meets Travis Kauffman 30-1 and it tops off with Omar Figueroa Jr. 25-0-1 facing Antonio DeMarco 31-5-1 in main event. I read the weights at 150 for both! Figueroa has apparently gone up 3 weight classes over 2 fights as he missed weight limit by 11 lbs. How is this allowed. Its madness. DeMarco starts slow enough AND was talking retirement last time out. Al Haymon should be wearing a bag over his head now that I look at this.

HBO Latino card starts at 9 pm with Sullivan Barrera 16-0 fighting Karo Murat 27-2-1 in Lt hvy title eliminator. Cheers and all that good stuff

Mario Barrios 13-0 vs Manuel Vides 18-4 up first. Barrios is just long everywhere, big frame on him!

Barrios really pouring it on over 3 rounds hurting Vides to body at least twice. Barrios punches off his shoulders, level. He's not shy about taking repeated right hands in return from Vides though. Didn't expect Vides to still be here in 4th

Barrios ends it convincingly with tremendous right uppercut/ left hook in 6th. Vides struggles but cannot beat the count.

Ortiz looks bloated and is in desperate need of a shave. Next up

I cannot for the life of me believe Flores is pushing this guy so hard. "can be serious contender at 147"

Same Ortiz...rushes into place, squares and telegraphs. Ends rounds touching gloves and smiling...Sanchez Leon survives 2nd

That is a huge card. Brandon Figueroa fought 4 hours ago and the first fight was an hour before that.

Good thing is we have heavyweight boxing on "free" prime time TV! Bad is they are showing Arreola and Kauffman at weigh-in face off poking and grabbing each others roll of belly fat hanging over trunks

Looks like they are first up!

and arreola lost around 10 pounds for this fight too :S

I like arreola, I think he's pretty skilled, he always seems just a bit too slow though, I doubt he's ever going to win a world title... well unless the ibf have something special planned :S......

Chris starts very sharp then eases off in 1st. Hands look quick but that's about it. Kauffman has the swiftness of a aircraft carrier. Just cannot see Chris going any higher than he's already been.

That was one uppercut away from a bad moon rising. Surprised Arreola crumpled like that, just looks weak almost
