    Default Film study help

Im watching how different guards are being utilized. Ive got fighters for high guard, cross armed, regular and philly shell. Does anyone know of fighters who have a "long guard"? Like someone who holds their hands out further than normal?

I can't think of anybody who does it the whole fight but some fighters do it some of the fight. Currently, Crawford uses it a lot. It seems like a guard where it allows fighters to use the jab and stay away from big punchers who come forward.

    Old time fighters did that.

Ward tends to do it at certain moments in fights.

Carl Froch's guard was his nose

    blocked most shots

all he had to do was keep his head still and punches just bounced off it

ward did well against Kov and gave a good account of himself with little holding.

Good find in jack Johnson. He seems like an obvious choice. Known as a great defensive fighter.
