Scott Harrison's manager Frank Maloney has hit out at reports suggesting Joan Guzman will not travel to take on the WBO featherweight champion in Belfast.
"Guzman has developed what a lot of American fighters call a 'chicken heart'," said Maloney.
"Why doesn't he just come out and openly admit he doesn't fancy a tear-up with the 'Scottish terrier'?
"I don't want my boxer going through all this training for Guzman not to appear and to let down boxing fans."
Harrison's bout with Dominican Guzman was rescheduled for 20 May at Belfast's King's Hall.
The Scot was forced to withdraw from the original 25 March date at the Braehead Arena, for his ninth bout as champion, due to a mouth abscess.
"I am sick of reading about Scott Harrison and the accusations that he is running scared of Joan Guzman," added Maloney.
"Harrison had legitimate problems with his mouth and was undertaking dental work and that is the only reason he broke from his training camp in Fort William and we asked for an extension to the fight date.
"Harrison has even giving up the home advantage of a fight in Glasgow to go to Belfast to take on Guzman because that was the only date and venue available to stop him being stripped of the title.
"Now Guzman's people are questioning Scott's ability to make the weight, I personally believe it is Guzman who is having problems and struggling to get his weight right.
"Let's put a stop to all these rumours - Sports Network have a signed contract from my man and Guzman - we will not be bottling it.
"If he doesn't fight he will be the first fighter in my long time in boxing that I have lost respect for."

I'm begining to think this is not going to happen.
