Default Thomas Hearns vs. Julian Jackson at 154.

Hard punchers with shaky chins. The definition of a don't blink fight. I think Hearns would win most of the time, but Jackson could land first and get the KO.

    Bombs away!

Hearns had more to him than just punch power, his boxing skills could mean he tries and breaks down Jackson behind his impressive jab and left hook. It could be KO round 5 like G Man did to Jackson.

However 1 mistake from Hearns and he gets flattened.

    Fuck me that's some matchup

First to land their power shot probably puts the other to sleep.

Could see Hearns doing what he did to Duran and around the same sort of time of the fight, get his range sorted, create some distance, establish the jab then boom with a huge right hand.

Jackson would always be in it though as anyone with that power would be but if i had to bet i'd pick the Hitman.

Agreed, you have to pick Tommy but every moment would be terrifying if you had money on it.

Hearns chin is underrated by the way. 67 fights, stopped 4 times. One was as much by exhaustion as his chin failing. One was by injury when he was very old. His chin cost him 2 of 67 fights and it was thunderous blows each time.

Great matchup on paper...if they were to fight prime v prime I do wonder if Hearns would go in for a slugfest or if he'd box. Either way Jackson would have as per usual the puncher's chance.

Height was roughly the same Hearns at 6'1 Jackson at 5'11 1/2....but Hearns had the reach on him 78" to 73" (all according to boxrec).

I think Tommy Hearns would box the ears off of Jackson, he might get rocked a time or two, but Hearns was a great enough boxer to handle 12/15 rounds with Jackson, hell he'd probably stop Jackson in 4-5 catching him flush.

Yeah, I'd go with Hearns too. Man, what a mythical matchup! One thing I'd bet my house on is it wouldn't last 12 rounds.

I'm in agreement with everyone else, Hearns couldn't get careless, but he had the better skill set and would have taken Jackson out at some point.

I think Jackson would be very negative, box off the back foot and win by a landslide on points. The only guy who I’d give a serious chance to cut the ring off and catch him early would be Cory spinks.

Can almost see this being a bit similar to Jackson v Norris minus Hearns stalling on the ropes and dropping his hands . Hearns figures to be far more diverse with added firepower in jab right to keep Jackson lunging in and staying mobile. Still though not one you leave the room on as both possessed instant erasers.

It's not even edge of your seat stuff. It's stood up beer in hand, open mouthed transfixed spectacle territory. These kind of matchups are always the best, much like most fantasies. In reality it probably ends early at the end of of one of Tommy's unraveling wrecking bombs. Tommy is just too multi-dimensional. Jackson is just so dangerous though that you can't ever blink, pull your shorts up or even grab another bottle from the fridge. Even Master cashes in his co-op stamp books to buy the PPV for this.

No I would not. It is a perfect match to listen on wireless.
