Default Undisputed - console boxing game finally released

Ok so I couldn't find previous threads on this game but it was finally released on consoles last week. IGN review above.

Not great but not terrible. To be fair it was done on a low budget and Fight Night Champion had set the bar pretty high.

Has anyone got it ? Verdict ?

I'm disappointed with reviews but may bite the bullet this weekend and download it - there are no alternatives and some of us did provide feedback to the developer on this forum about five years back when he asked for it.

I never liked these sports games, boxing, basketball, fifa or football... I prefer to play sports myself, not play sports virtually or through a video game. jmo... never got into the genre. If I want a game, I want fantasy or something sci-fi..

From what I've seen it looks a little rough. Crazy variety of playable fighters...apparently Ryan Garcia got booted ... but gameplay looks similar to fight night series.

So I've been playing this a couple of weeks now and have to say it's not bad at all.

It's not perfect and needs some tweaks - patch coming mid December - but it plays well once you get used to the controls.

You won't like it at first but there hasn't been a boxing game for thirteen years ffs. Recommended. Give it a go.

Should add its more strategy than straight out button bashing go for the ko play. I'm playing career mode and having to work out opponents as you progress. Protecting your stamina and winning rounds plays a big part for my boxing on the outside style.

So they've patched it already. Nullifying the power punch spammers online. This now plays even more realistically where you have to work out your opponent. Landed the title yesterday in career mode landing a one punch KO on Canelo in the fourth - first time he'd been down in fight after having me in trouble in the third. Only had 12 ko wins in over forty
fights and this was my first one punch lights out moment. Satisfying.

Get this game. I rate it as highly as FNC now and more patches to come.

Comparison Boxing and online gaming like Fisch both require strategy, skill, and quick reflexes to dominate opponents. While boxing focuses on physical strength and real-time decision-making, Fisch and other online games emphasize tactical gameplay and automation through scripts. Both challenge players to outsmart their competition, whether in the ring or the virtual world.

Comparison Boxing and online gaming like Fisch both test a player’s reaction time, strategy, and adaptability. Boxing relies on physical endurance and real-world tactics, while Fisch focuses on digital skill, automation, and strategic resource management. Both require precision and mastery to stay ahead of the competition.

Devin Haney said he didn't wanna be in the game coz he ain't gonna be on the cover

Guess what they told him ? "We can't give you a cover Dev, but if you can get Ryan Garcia, we'll give you a cover"

But I've always been a big video game player nerd since I was kid. So this is gonna be long but I don't care (lol)

    Undisputed ?

THE GOOD : Fighter models look like their counterparts, the lighting is good, the frame rate is a smooth 60fps. If you’re familiar with the FNC (Fight Night Championship) series, the controls are pretty similar. Only main difference is the body punch modifier is on the left bumper and not tied to the left trigger where the weave is. Footwork is maybe better than FNC.

THE BAD : The punches don't look like they have anything to them. Stamina and body punching having zero effect on anything. The commentary is pretty generic and bad. The graphics should be better as they're literally PS3 status. As a graphics head, it looks the same as the Undisputed from 10+ years ago. Matter of fact, when I use a PS4 emulator to play it on my PC with better graphics, it looks damn near the same . Hopefully this inspires EA to come back

Despite not being as arcadey as FNC, still not as simulation as it was marketed. There’s a cap on how good you can be, so you're not gonna be a Mayweather on there. The menus are amateur. For example, when changing cameras, every venue is listed, so unless you remember the name of the venue you picked, you’ll he hard pressed to change the camera to your liking.

Presentation is mediocre. I get most people skip that stuff, but I want the fights to mimic what it looks like on television without the “Undisputed” wipes. No stamina penalty for guys throwing all power shots and they make it way too hard to get out of the way of slow power hooks. So that means even a guy who has never played the game before can spam power hooks until they knock you down and beat you. The lack of carrying belts to the ring, the half baked career mode, lack of clinching, and no goddamn ref in the ring. Like I feel bad for console players because early access

I also went down the list of all the fighters they're missing and needing. No Liston ? But a Tommy Morrison is there ? No Chavez ? No Spinks ? No Layla Ali ? No Tommy Hearns ? No Lennox Lewis ? Hell even the new boxers, we don't have Boots ?

Unfortunately the new norm is developers releasing half done games and we just have to wait for patches over the first year or two. I know they’re a small indie company (Steel City Interactive) but it seems like they spent most their budget on licensing and forgot what makes a good game and I'm not going to give them any grace can because this is their first time game bcoz this truly one of the biggest scams in gaming history and it's not just me saying that but the developers (Steel City Interactive) basically admitted that it's not optimal.

So allow customers to refund ? Hmm ? Since they were sold on false pretences. But corporations see they can invest less and less in a game and still get the same amount of money.

PC heads tried to warn console people that the game was undercooked and the devs weren't shyt as this is NOT a completed game guys. This game is dead. Nobody is going to stick around so these devs can wait months to fix desync issues and shyt mechanics. They got the money. This is the equivalent of a crypto rug pull

IMPROVEMENTS : You need a ref in ring guys because that actually matters. As it stands, Kenny Bayless is pointless. Every time I pick Gatti Kenny Bayless stops the fight cause of a cut before the 4th round no matter how good I'm doing. I pointed out the lack of clinching because you can’t have boxing game without clinching. No clinching is INSANE!! More camera angles. Definitely need something with more of a broadcast feel. Maybe an overhead camera angle or a fixed camera option as well.

Customizable HUD (Heads Up Display) When I first played, I put it on simulation as opposed to casual. I didn’t realize simulation simply meant no HUD Unfortunately, that means no clock and no scorecard updates after every 3 rounds. Also, you can’t change this through the pause menu.

Improve some gameplay elements to make it more simulation. Not just the punching, but let’s say someone throws a wild punch. I want to be able to punch them and cause a knockdown (without them being hurt). I want to be able to punch someone after the bell and be penalized for it. The skipped over so much of the heavy duty stuff because that would take a lot of time and coding to do, but I just want to feel like I'm a legit boxer trying to fulfil the dream of being a pound for pound champion.

I feel constricted by the punching and movement. In career mode I'm an "Out Boxer", but I feel like the game won't let me box. Either I'm tired after 2 jabs, or the game registers my punches too late. Not so much a wish, but what happened to the filters? I remember seeing old builds of fighters in black and white. End of the day UNDISPUTED. I give it a 4 for effort but wait for the price drop then buy it and that's if you want it
