    Mayweather win upheld!
The Nevada State Athletic Commission has just upheld IBF welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather's win over Zab Judah. Mayweather's $5 million purse has been released. Floyd's trainer Roger Mayweather was fined $200,000 and suspended for one year as punishment for entering the ring before the end of round ten, prompting a wild melee. Roger, who was in attendance at today's hearing, said he thought the round had ended before he came in the ring. Zab Judah's purse was not released pending a disciplinary hearing to be scheduled. More to come.....

I would like to see that one year ban extended to the entire USA for Roger.

We all knew the decision would be up-held, after all the hotels had paid out on a Mayweather win, so that was a no-brainer. But I am impressed that the NSAC actually have given Roger Mayweather a long ban.

1: Floyd got what he deserved for acting like a champion.
2: Roger got what he deserved for acting like an idiot.
3: Judah got what he deserved for performing like an idiot.
4: Like it or not...boxing got what was called for in the end.
5: I didn't see that you had posted this till after I had.
    6: Sal...you tried...but Floyd won.

Wow...that's harsh but I guess it was necassary. I guess PBF - Hatton will have to take place in Conneticut or NYC now.

And why is Judah's purse withheld? He wasn't to far in the wrong. He should get off with a slap on the wrist but he won't because the Nady incident happened in Vegas. Didn't he get put on lifetime probation after that?

Perhaps you forgot: Judah, in desperation, intentionally punched PBF hard in the nuts in order to immobilize him so that he could pick his spot and intentionally punch PBF hard in the back of the head (a life-threatening move). The man should be banned from the sport in Nevada--what he did is FAR more dangerous (and illegal) than anything Roger did.

This was the right move, and just as I expected:

if u wanna get technical floyd landed quite a few shots to the back of the head, he also grabbed zab by the back of the head, held him, and hit him in the face QUITE a few times, do i have to make another movie?

I didn't really see what was the big deal with the Judah low blow. It was no different from Ricky Hatton against Tszyu so don't see why Zab needs to be further crucified.

    1. Ricky should have been penalized for what he did to Tszyu.

    2. This was far different. Ricky low-blowed Tszyu in retaliation for Tszyu's (seemingly unintentional) low blows preceding it. Ricky hit him to serve notice that he wasn't going to be pushed around like that. Once he had done so, however, he backed off, respected the calling of time, and that was the end of it. He didn't stand there, wait for Tszyu to buckle over immobilized, and then hit him in the back of the neck. I don't get what's so hard to understand about this--it's not the low blow, it's the intentional rabbit punch when Mayweather was already keeled over and completely unable to move or otherwise defend himself. A low blow is (hopefully) not going to paralyze you or give you brain damage; a punch to the back of the head easily could.

HALLELUJAH!!! This is great news. Justice was served. Uncle Rog got a 200 G fine that PBF will pay without blinking. And his 1 yr sentence doesnt mean he cant train PBF. It just means he cant work in PBF's corner. Big deal! And I'm glad they're holding Zab's money.

Oh boo hooey...it's becoming painfully apparent that Don King's strangle hold on boxing has finally subsided...he can cry all he wants...but if he wants to say that something is illegal/wrong/criminal...he needs to take a look in the mirror.

    Strangle hold? Heh heh heh.

I gave CC's to Shza and Wacko for good posts. Sal, I wont sad click you for your opinion, but I'm really wondering why you're so pro-Judah on this topic. He and Rog Mayweather were both in the wrong. And I didnt realize the ban is only for Vegas. So PBF will fight in Memphis or NY for the next yr. Big deal.

SaltheButcher, If you cant admit that the low blow AND the behind the head shot were intentional, in the words of Jack Nicholson, "YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!!"
