Celebrated British cruiserweight David Haye once again defied his critics and spectacularly blew away replacement opponent at tonight's Fight Academy promoted card, in Huddersfield, England. Haye had originally been scheduled to face British and Commonwealth Champion Mark Hobson in a much anticipated hate filled grudge match before

Sticking to the gameplan, Gomez continued to come forward and apply pressure in the third, actually having some success and keeping Alvarez on the back-foot, but the Argentinian looked to have Gomez figured out and showed excellent handspeed to land several unanswered fast and accurate combinations in the final minute of the round. the cagey Hare was giving nothing away and the blueprint looked set for the fight to go the distance.
Then, in the second, local favourite Hare looked to be in trouble having suffered damage to his left eye which was already threatening to close. Indeed, this may have contributed to his first knockdown as he was tagged in the fourth by a sweet right-left combination which sent him sprawling to the canvas. Looking bewildered, he took the full count before getting back to his feet and toughing out the remainder of the round. More...
