Default Ricky Hatton v. Paulie Malignaggi

Ricky Hatton and Paulie Malignaggi square off on Saturday in Las Vegas.

For Ricky, it is a career defining fight: if he wins, he'll likely face the winner of the De La Hoya v. Pacquiao fight, and if he loses he's back to the drawing board (Bilbo's post about drawing boards: http://www.saddoboxing.com/boxingforum/44593-anyone-here-ever-use-drawing-board.html) For Malignaggi, it is a career defining fight because he is fighting the best junior welterweight in the world.

Hatton UD, I dont see him stopping Paulie because hes tough as hell. I think the cards will read 116-112 117-110 around that area. It will be a good fight but Rickys just too much for PM.

Talking Re: Ricky Hatton v. Paulie Malignaggi

If a peak Hatton or anything like turns up then it shouldnt be close .... BUT Im going for Paulie to cause a points upset ... even tho my logic says different .... this is one of them fights that ya some times just get a feeling about, which is why I voted the way I did ..... not logic based in anyway lol .. just a feeling I have re the fight .. & I really hope Im wrong

    I like Hatton by decision.

Malignaggi has really looked awful his last couple fights. He's regressed.

I was looking at their records on boxrec and Hatton definitely has more experience. It may come down to how much holding/clenching the referee allows. If Paulie treats this like the fight of his life, he may pull off the upset.

I am going the opposite mate....I pick Paulie by UD....I agree on one thing though...Hatton will not stop PM if he does win....Crazy thing is to look at Malignaggi you would never guess he is that tough....

    Maybe it's the haircut

I just feel Hatton is too much of a live fighter for Paulie. Hatton will lose rounds if he goes to sleep and he will get outboxed. Paulie doesnt like being put on the back foot and he gets careless. If ricky can get him off his game and constantly apply the pressure for 12 rounds he will win.

Hatton looked poor in his last fight, but Paulie looked way worse! There is no way I can see him winning the fight and Hatton looks very motivated. I think a round 8 KO by Hatton.

Hatton by UD. Paulie struggled a bit with N'dou in the rematch and won a close fight with Ngoudjo and in my opinion everything they can do Ricky can do better. One part of Hatton's game I feel is being overlooked is his footwork/footspeed he'll be able to close the gap and get to Paulie alot easier than Paulie realizes. Not saying Malignaggi won't give him any trouble I just feel Ricky will bring too much pressure and win by scores in the 116-112 range.
