They parted company. GB is not involved in this promotion.

What did GB do for Floyd?

When you figure out promoters are thieves you will begin understanding the sport. GB profited from Floyd. Any promotional company could have made Floyd money, the reverse is not true.

    Damn straight.
The notion that GB somehow made it possible for Floyd to earn money he would've otherwise never earned is beyond laughable.

Oscar paid Floyd's tax and stopped him going to jail. In return he signed for him. That is what Oscar did.

Plus, put him on a pedestal where King would have eaten him alive... Arum would have set him up, and not have even tolerated Al Haymon... and gave him a fight that put him over the top...

Early in a fighter's career, he needs a good promoter more than promoters need him. Once a mega star, it's pretty much the other way around. Promoters fight for the right to promote the star. These lines cross somewhere in the path to super stardom. Floyd passed that point a long time ago. Furthermore, Floyd was made well before GBP came into the picture. Floyd's also a jerk, but he's not stupid. To imply that King and/or Arum would've truncated his career is beyond laughable.

Why do this? You know damn well Floyd wasn't going to jail over his taxes. That doesn't get the IRS paid. Why do boxing fans insist on spreading misinformation?

Floyd signed with him so he could get the fight against Oscar, that is the entire connection between Floyd and GBPs. And it was working well so he stuck with them after the 5 fight deal expired. Then GBPs got rid of Shaeffer so Floyd left. End of story.

I know he was not going to jail but it was a deal that Floyd could not refuse.
