Looks like the dream Pac-Valero fight may be possible in Macau.

If it ever happens it might as well be , Valero looks like a natural lightweight if not a welter. An unfair match-up for Pacquiao IMO, but we never know with PAC as PAC has pulled wins over bigger guys over and over. I'll root for PAC as always but Valero seems just tooooooo freakin big for a 130 pounder.

Haha, this fight would bring in the SUSPENSE!!! Pac is a demigod in the ring vs. the younger, more powerful, albiet much less experienced Valero. I know a lot of people will think pacman will blow valero out of the water but Im not so sure...you know pac is gonna brawl and Valero can certainly bring the heat. THIS WOULD BE AN ABSOLUTE WAR.

Manny to fight in Macau mainer?
    By Joaquin Henson
    The Philippine Star 09/11/2006

Manny Pacquiao will likely headline the inaugural pro boxing card at the new Wynn’s Hotel and Casino in Macau this March.

Pacquiao’s confidante Rex (Wakee) Salud told The STAR yesterday Bob Arum of Top Rank Promotions is putting up the blockbuster show, featuring popular Asian fighters, for hotel owner Steve Wynn.

The $700-million hotel is now under construction on a 20-year concession granted by the Macau government to Wynn.

An opponent is still not decided but World Boxing Council (WBC) superfeatherweight champion Marco Antonio Barrera, World Boxing Association (WBA) titlist Edwin Valero and WBC featherweight interim king Humberto Soto are options.

"It all depends on what happens in Barrera’s title defense against Rocky Juarez this weekend," said Salud. "A Barrera rematch will mean big money. But the problem is Barrera is managed by Golden Boy which is a Top Rank competitor so I don’t know if the fight can be worked out. If not, Valero or Soto would also be a tough opponent. It also depends on how Manny performs against (Erik) Morales on Nov. 18. While the Macau fight is a possibility, Manny’s not looking past Morales."

Valero, a southpaw, has a 20-0 record, with 20 KOs. The 24-year-old Venezuelan has no license to fight in the US and won the WBA crown on a knockout over Vicente Mosquera in Panama last month.

"I watched Valero fight in Yokohama last year and he promised to give 100,000 yen to his opponent (Hero Bando) if he survives one round against him," said Salud who is in constant communication with Arum. "Valero kept his money and knocked out Bando in less than two minutes."

Soto, a Mexican veteran, boasts a 40-5-2 record, with 24 KOs, and has not lost in his last 18 outings since 2002.

Pacquiao, Salud, lawyer Franklin Gacad, trainers Buboy Fernandez and Nonoy Neri and possibly brother Bobby are scheduled to leave for the US on Thursday. They will watch the Barrera-Juarez fight in Las Vegas on Saturday. Then Pacquiao begins hard training at the Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles next Monday for his Las Vegas rubber match with Morales.

Salud said there are plans to stage an exclusive Philippines versus Mexico card on Nov. 16 at the Orleans Hotel and Casino Arena, also in Las Vegas, as a prelude to the Pacquiao-Morales trilogy climax two days later. Bobby Pacquiao, coming off a knockout win over former world champion Kevin Kelley at Madison Square Garden, is being considered to fight in the Orleans main event.

Pacquiao is also winding up training in Gen. Santos City, and is expected to fly to LA this coming Thursday or Friday. Joining him in the trip are associate Wakee Salud, lawyer Franklin Gacal and trainers Buboy Fernandez and Nonoy Neri.

After the press conference, Morales will fly to Tijuana. He will have very little time to be with his wife and new-born son before he climbs to the Otomi Mountains to begin training for Pacquiao.

The Filipino southpaw, on the other hand, will train at least eight full weeks at the Wild Card Gym in Hollywood.

valero reminds me of randy suico, strong but slow. if valero is smart enough he wouldnt throw non stop bombs against pac. pac will just cover then bust some combis then move away. but every fighter has a chance to win valero might get lucky who knows.

I don't know why everyone one keeos saying Valero is SLOW!

Listen..the man is not lightening fast but He puts together pretty good combos and they certainly do not lack speed. He takes a little time but doesnt telegrapgh his punches *much and only a fighter along the lines of PAC can see them coming but Valero mixes it up in such a way that about 25% will land and will land strong.

This fight would have a lot more interest than Im sre mayn would give it credit for..

There is more to valero than just being an *exciting* fighter. When He came in to the ring against Mosquera I had the feeling that no matter what the hell mosquera did that night..whether it be his best or brilliant..that he could not beat Valero.. Screw the whole 1st round KO sh*t..that aint sh*t and I am not one to jump on the prospect bandwagon but I see something in Valero that is VERY dangerous to anyone he fights. I don't care if he is lacking is certain areas. What I see is he comes into the ring with lsoing not being an option. That might sound like a silly and amatuer statement to most of you but I think if Valero can live up to even 3/4 of his potential he can be a world champ. There is so much raw talent in this guy and there's a lot he know and just doesnt put into play because he knows he can win fights without it.. He will be something imo; he just better get that f*cking license to fight in the US and NOT THROW HIS TALENT AWAY!

Yup, the fight really scares us Pac-fan(atics). Pac just gets hit too much for our comfort and his chin is not that reliable. I can't imagine what happens if he get nailed by a really big punch. But on the positive side, Valero's trainer did say in one article that he overestimated his boy's power in the Mosquera fight; maybe his power isn't that super big after all, maybe those guys he KO'd were just second rate 'weaklins' (sorry for the term, I'm not usually that obnoxious but I just can't think of a better term), just maybe.

Seriously I don't see how you think Pacquiao would beat Hamed and then say in the same sentence that you think Valero could beat Pacquiao

CC for the news Pacfan brother! I highly doubt whether it's true though,I just don't see it happening now although if it did,I'd favour Pacquiao at this moment in time for sure. Valero needs to fight like he does in sparring, box etc and THEN I would favour him but if he is going to go in hands low,get gassed etc,he WILL GET KTFO by Manny!
Pacfan I disagree with one thing though bro,Pac has a good chin,JMM hurt him bad and EM has had him hurt too but he refuses to go down, that's a great heart and chin because JMM and EM hit very hard.

Remember this though, once Valero starts boxing like he can, like I've seen him combined with that awesome power of a true 130 pounder,he will be a force to be reckoned with,he just needs to calm down and realise this!

CC to you also, brod. Ya, there are big if's about the fight esp. the outcome of Barrera-Juarez fight - I think they're more keen on the Barrera rematch for Pac than anything else at the moment. It's the money that rules here, and Barrera, Morales and Pac are the biggest money machines in the division. But the good thing is that just as it seemed almost impossible for Valero-Pac dream fight to happen, and it seemed to be just that - a dream; surprise or surprises, Bob Arum suddenly comes up with the idea of promoting a fight overseas. The timing seems almost as if it was tailor-made for the Pac-Valero dream fight! But another problem is that the medical condition of Valero might bring in howl of protests from some groups. I've already read one boxing article calling on not to let Valero fight Pac for obvious reasons. So I quess we have to keep our fingers crossed.

You really think Pac has a good chin, boy thanks, you really made me happy there. I'd really like to think so too but just can't shake off those knockdowns Pac suffered from my mind. But coming from you, well... maybe true, I hope.

We almost forgot, we can't overlook Erik, not just yet. No matter what they say, your man can't be counted out coz even if he suffered a KO, it was by no means an easy fight for Pac. As Emmanuel Stuart said, he (Pac) did it a hard way, taking lots (and lots) of good shots from Morales. So, good for you, I think Morales has a real chance there.

I have to admit, seeing Manny in all these exciting fights has made me respect him and become a bit of a closet fan,I actually downloaded like 10 of his fights!! Of course,Manny has been hurt but I will be the first to admit he has a great chin, but so too does Morales. I REALLY hope Erik can do it this time but there are so many conflicting reports, the recent 1 I heard and I hope it's true stated that Morales is in great shape, with the help of specialists and is ready to begin super hard training etc.

I'll tell you 1 fight I'd like to see Pacman take,is against Humberto Soto, this guys is a rugged tough tough fighter, and he will make a name for himself. Remember,he beat on Juarez and deserves a shot at the big time for sure!

Ultimately, you're right.money talks and MAB Pacman makes the most sense IF MAB gets past Juarez and Pac beats EM.Imagine if both of them lost?! EM-Juarez?!
