Everyone reacts different to getting hit. I am thick in the neck area I have big traps that help act as a shock absorber to some extent.

Wouldn’t hurt to get checked out. your taking about numbness in your hands when you get hit . and that concerns me a bit, You want to rule out a slip disk in the neck or any swelling in the brain

Youve trapped your nerves to the arm from your upper 4th vertibra the dorsal muscle has tightened up causing the problem it happens a lot. Go to the stretch program and do the one with the stick and the ball should do the trick.
