Default Ricardo Lopez in the Hall of Fame

    http://www.ringtalk.com/index.php?ac...ents=1&id=1008

If you haven't seen the guy fight, he's a very very good fighter. Almost perfect technique. I'd have put him in the Hall of Fame but its hard to deny that he doesn't have an overwhelming resume like some first ballot hall of famers do. Now I have no idea what happened with the Carbajal fight so its hard to even comment on that.

    Any thoughts?

He has some decent names on the resume, not instantaneoulsy recognisable but good skilled fighter. Finito has awesome technique and is HIGHLY under rated, due to his the weight he fought at? His fights with ALvarez were awesome examples of great boxing, jabs, comboc, defence everything Great fighter, deserves it.CC for the news although bro,I don't think we are allowed to post articles anymore,I think the rule is to just post the link?

'El Finito' was and is amazing to watch never get tired of watching his fights.
Single handedly 1 of the BEST, if not the best technicians of all time.....

IMO, he has the best names that were available at the time. You also got to keep in mind that in the lower weight classes you could have about 6 fights and already by challenging for a title. Now this doesn't mean your to green or it doesn't mean you've learned faster then others. Not sure excatly why but thats just the way it is... Thats why you see a handfull of Lopez opponents with about 20 fights or so on their records... Take for example right now....

    Eagle Kyowa 17-1
    Pornsawan Kratingdaenggym 17-0
    Katsunari Takayama 18-2
    Nobuo Nashiro 9-0
    Koki Kameda 12-0

All good fighters some better then others but they are at the top at the moment... So thats who you gotta fight. I mean he won the WBC/WBA & WBO titles. 'Nene' Sanchez was no push over at that time... IMO and neither was 'El Buffalo' both very good fighters at that time....

Actually.... I have to agree. This kid is wAAAAAAYYYY overrated.

He's overrated in that, everybody says he's underrated.

Hall of Fame credentials, yes. 1st Ballot? Helll no! You gotta be kidding me.

An "O" with no real bad*ss fighter on his resume. haha

Doesn't impress me. Just another man who displays skills... and there are plenty of them.

A real 1st Ballot goes balls out and risks his "O" with BIG fights... and almost all the time, it doesn't look pretty, because your actually fighting someone worth fighting for.

Totally disagree,I mean if one was to teach a kid how to box,El Finito would be the textbook fighter to use and as Mick pointed out so well in his post,he fought the dangermen in his time. I mean his last fights were against a younger, stronger and I think unbeaten guy(Rosendo Alvarez) and Lopez still won!
