Al, isn't all you are doing comparing similar fighters (style-wise) to each other?

That will probably tell us who is the best brawler, or pure boxer, or box-puncher etc - but wouldn't it be good to put (say) Marciano up against Jeff Willard, to see if he could do what Dempsey did, or whether Willard would have found a way past it?

You have a good list there, but a little jiggle around then gives us hours to thought and topics of conversation?

Hagler - Robinson at MW? Would the real Sugarman have conned Hagler the same way?
    Hearns v Benn at middle?
Liston v Frazier - would Old Stoneface have ambushed Joe as quickly?

Holmes v Foreman - Larry couldn't rope-a-dope as well as Ali, but he would approached the fight in a different way?

also somat to mention especially with dempsey , willard fighting someone like marciano and tht woudl be what era this may sound stupid but look at it this way dempsey was allowed to pretty much stand over willard waiting for him to get up in the era of marciano this would not be possible and all the rumours that dempsey had sumat in his glove gainst willard which would not be allowed to happen today i mean i rekon i could knock willard out if i had a big piece of steel in my glove

    Marciano
Liston: In his prime he hit almost as hard as Foreman, but he was a way better boxer... almost every expert believes he wins this hands down.
    3. IMO Homles would beat Ali in any time of his career... His jab was too fast, and too good for Ali to overcome.
    4. Duran ko's him, and its easier than alot of people believe.
    5. Hagler.
    6. Leonard is too fast, and too skilled for Robinson who wouldn't be able to take him out... Leonard beats him on the outside.
    7. Hearns vs. McCallum... I say that Hearns is still too skinny and that McCallum punishes him to the body, and stops him late.
    8. Not sure close one.
    9. This would be like Jones-TOney except worse.
    10. Barrera I think wins this.

Some other fights I think would be good
Louis-Holyfield: I think Holyfield wins this personally.
Foreman-Tyson: Tyson would do a bigger number on him than Morrison did.
    Carbajal-Calveron:Carbajal by TKO/KO
    Henry Armstrong-Willie Pep

Id rather look at the match ups the could of but never happened.

    Top ten outside of Heavyweights:

    Dela Hoya - Wright (@ 154 - 2004)
Instead of Oscar getting Money hungry an fighting overmatched and over sized Strum and Hopkins

    Toney - Benn (@ 160 - 1991)
    Graham - Eubank (@ 160 - 1991)
These two fights would of served as a great eliminator at a time when each of these fighters were in prime condition.

    Graham - Leonard (@ 160 - 1989)
    McCullum - Hearns (@ 160 - 1989)
As above but probably four times better! The ultimate elimination. Could of gave Graham his dream shot at one of the graets or even gave us Leonard - Hearns III

    Top 10 Heavyweight match ups:

    5. Foreman - Tyson (1986... Seriously)
Would have been a bigger test for Tyson than Berbick
    4. Bowe - Tyson (1992)
For good or bad, would of done more to cement either fighters legacy
    3. Greb - Dempsey (1920)
For me, this would of been the acid test for Dempsey
    2. Marciano - Liston (1956)
As above but i also feel that Marciano would of been slaughterd. Hence dispelling any Myths that currently surround his career
    1. Holmes - Foreman (1980)
No argument what so ever... For me, this fight is the fight of all fights! To this day, this fight would still be regarded as one of if not the best heavyweight fight ever and it would of no doubt bumped up the winners chance at being recognised as one of the top 3 Heavyweights of all time
