Default Main event fights that get OUTDONE by the undercard

As was to be expected, last night's Taylor-Spinks fight was TOTALLY outshined by the Pavlik-Miranda barnburner of a fight. Everyone expected it..... and it happened. In actuality, the main event was doomed from the start. Once people take in a spectacle like the war between "Pantera" and "The Ghost", it's hard to be satisfied with a mediocre main event. Too bad the stands were only half-filled for the first fight (Lampley mentioned the "disappointing" turnout), with many people waiting for the main event.

Which leads to the question: What other main events in recent history have been totally outdone by the preceding fights? I know there's been a few, although right now none come to mind.

To be fair, a fight between two pigeons in the street could outdo the Taylor-Spinks fight for excitement.

Michael Katsidis vs Graham Earl that was an undercard and that was by far best fight and maybe best fight of the year can't quite remember what card it was on though but i do remember it was by far the best fight.

Agree with you totally on that one Ice Cold. That fight was fantastic, Earl took so many heavy shots but just kept coming back. Both fighters showed so much heart definetly one my fights of the year so far.
