It is about vampires. Will Smith's character is responsible for creating the virus that turns almost all of humanity into vampires. By day he gathers food and stuff and kills vampires whenever he can. It's really simple; he just needs to expose them to sunlight and they die. During the day the sleep so heavily that nothing would wake them, so they're pretty easy to kill.

I saw a preview for AVP 2 a few days ago and it looks pretty crazy as well....
Not that AVP1 was anything too exciting, but I think 2 should be a site better.

It's a remake of a 70s film The Omega Man starring Charlton Heston (didn't use I am Legend) - class itself, check it out before the new one comes out.

If I remember rightly Arnie was going to make this in mid 90s but fell through

....I thought The Omega Man was a set post nuclear war and they weren't vampires, they were zombie/mutants

I read the book. It was great. It was pretty short and easy reading, I think I finished it in a day. You guys should read it so you can see how much the movie will suck in comparison.
