if taylor does win, and because this is a nontitle bout, will we see a trilog?
and why is this a non title fight, is he fighting for respect, revenge, p4p status?

mind over speed and power
It's a non-title fight because they are fighting at 166
sorry, will we see a trilogy for the titles?'

Probably not because Pavlik is going to lay Taylor out again...Originally Posted by toogood4u
But I don't honestly know if there would be a rematch. I think Taylor might head to 168 after this fight, win or lose.
No the 3rd fight will be at Supermiddleweight.Originally Posted by toogood4u
nothing against taylor but i hope pavlik wins because i see him as the man to carry prestige for the legendary middle weight title, hes got heart, good chin and his punchs pop, that said he could get ko'd by taylor in the rematch, taylor in a way let him off the hook in there first fight
It's not for a title because JT's camp put a stupid clause that called for a rematch at 166 with the belt not being on the line, obviously.
I guess Taylor's fighting to beat the only guy who ko'd him and obviously it was so much fun he wants to do it again If Taylor loses, and Pavlik moves up to 168, well, like PSPW said, the "trilogy" will take place there unless JT says the hell with that and retires
When Pav sparks him out again there wont be a 3rd fight.
My thoughts exactlyOriginally Posted by CutMeMick
This fight between Pavlik and Taylor is definitely about Taylor looking for revenge and Pavlik not backing down from a fight. This is what used to make boxing great. They're fighting for pride so much more than fighting for money. I love the whole motivation for this!!!
I've said it since this fight was announced, I would love to see this become a trilogy but Pavlik is not going to lose to Taylor.Originally Posted by Pernell "Sweet Pea" Whitaker
A couple questions:
#1 Why all the hate on Jermain Taylor?
#2 Did anyone miss the second round of the first fight?
And now a statement, Pavlik will more than likely move to 168 as well seeing how he's having trouble making weight also
I cant see much for Taylor should he get tuned up by Pavlik again. That type of brutal KO can haunt a guy for a long time.
I am Not a fan of Taylors,IMO he lost first Hopkins fight and looked feeble vs.Spinks...mentally and physically but one thing cannot be denied,He had Pavlik ready to be put to rest in 1st fight.Had he been a clean and Collected finisher, very well might still be champ. Yeh I know,Hindsight is 20/20 but I think Pavlik needs to tighten up on defense.
I still think Pavlik repeats KO,only earlier 2nd time around.
No hate coming from me; I've always had Taylor as a favorite of mine. But I got a little irritated with all that degrading of Pavlik that not only Taylor and Manny were spewing, but also Miranda, basically relegating Pavlik as a joke and walk in the park. So I'm still reveling in his win over both; tough I am still a fan of Pantera and Taylor.Originally Posted by Lyle
And how could someone watch the fight and not see the second round? People though want to bring up the second round but forget why he even got put down. It wasn't because Taylor put a clinic on Pavlik, but because Pavlik tried making girly faces at Taylor and got put down. He also got immediately back up and went right back into the lion's mouth and gave him every chance from then till the end of the fight to put him down again. Didn't happen. All respect Lyle
.......he got away with that round, had he been caught like that again the fight would have been over
Jermain Taylor just hasn't put together his entire fight game....his offense, defense, footwork, etc don't match....he wants distance with his offense using the jab and his footwork (or lack there of) only allows for close fighting, and his defense is just horrible
He got away with that round? Taylor had 2+ minutes to finish him, and Pavlik may or may not have gotten finished if Taylor did it again. Hell, he was given every chance to do it the rest of the 2nd round and every one after that. And I'm sure Pavlik hasn't put his entire fight game together either. Taylor better have his together though for the next fight or it's good night.Originally Posted by Lyle
