A lot of problems with the calf muscles occur from places you dont expect depending on technique.What causes the achillies and calf to suffer a lot is we dont stretch the Fibularis muscles, found on the outside front of the leg below the knee. they do an important balancing act with the Biomechanics, theres some very good stretches you can do with Bands, put some on a thred somewhere Ill have a look.
