Default Hopkins vs. Ornelas official thread

Well this fight is coming up in about an hour. I know everyone expects a relatively easy night against the decidedly outclassed, but very durable Ornelas. It looks like it's 2 hours so hopefully they show some of the undercard. Pretty sure They will show all 2 minutes of Jones/Green as these fights were to be a set up for the rematch. Who knows, in stranger aeon's do we see Green/Ornelas?

I think Hopkins may actually show some ring rust. Ornelas if nothing else will be steady pressure

Here we go announcers talking about the question of the future of Hopkins after RJJ losing. Undercard about to start Danny Garcia vs. Enrique Colin Light welter prospects. WBC youth Light Welter title on the line, not sure why a 27 year old is fighting for a youth title. Steve Smoger is the ref so Kumate time.

Colin 23-4-3 (19 KOs) from Mexico 139 lbs.

Garcia 14-0 (9 KOs) from Philly 140 lbs.

    Round 1

both wearing pink gloves tentative start sharp right from Colin lands, but a left hook counter from Garcia also lands. Neither seems to want to lead. Garcia pumps a few jabs but from too far. in close and a clinch Colin uses it to bang the body a bit. 1-2 from Colin, Garcia slips both. Garcia firing from too far not landing anything. short right hook from Garcia glances off the chin. A little scuffle on the inside and Colin bounces back to his range. Well placed left hook and a HUGE right floors Colin, the crowd erupts into cheers.

    10-8 Garcia

Garcia in the post fight interview talking about how he kept composure in training and the first knockdown was a reaction to getting hit the second was a setup. He talked about his international amateur experience and how it's helping him now.

    Next up

    Derrick Wilson 5-0-1 (2 KOs) 125.5 lbs.

    vs.

Guadalupe de Leon 7-9-0 (4 KOs) 126 lbs.

Wilson impressed the hell out of me against Huerta in his last fight, I've been waiting to see him again since then. He is wild, fast and hair trigger reactions.

    Round 1

Wilson lands a slapping hook and then piles on punches back de Leon to the ropes and again. a little left hook miss from de Leon and Wilson fires back hard. Wilson is all over de Leon. Wilson misses wildly de Leon plants a few jabs and moves. Wilson pins de Leon on the ropes again and unloads some quality rights. a few feints from Wilson de Leon lands a few more jabs. de Leon back in the corner and they trade body shots. Wilson pushed back misses with a hook

    10-9 Wilson easy.
