    Default Question About Abs.

I've got sixpack but i would like the abs thicker if that makes sense, i've been working with weighted plates. But i don't find that they are doing the job, im going to try cable crunches.

But my question is to get thicker abs will i need to put on weight ? to get them larger ? or will they just naturally get bigger with the stress of the weighted cable crunches ? because i don't really want to put on any weight because im happy with my weight.

Cable crunches are awesome, they burn your abs so much. Never felt that before i for certain recommend them.

Hey Ice- the growth of any muscle will increase your bodyweight.
Thickening up your abdomen could result in adding a few kilos.

Deadlifts, squats and low bf% is all you need for the appearance of thick abs, if your lacking ab thickness then its probably because your lacking in one of these areas, forget the isolation exercises for mass/thickness theyre next to a waste of time unless your worried about being out of proportion, in which case add the thickness to abs using compound lifts then lay off the out of proportion muscle groups while doing isolation for abs to maintain thickness in abs while balancing out any dissproportion youve developed through the increased compounds.

Simple, just find more challenging ab exercises and full body exercises which require a strong midsection. Exercises such as snatch, clean and press, etc are perfect for this. Some good really challenging ab exercises are dragon flags and the ab wheel rollouts, if your feeling game.

what salty suggested ab wheelrollouts are a very good exercise, if you havent got one you can use some rope to do a similair exercise using rope slung over a beam above you, it should hang down lowto the floor and this will help work both sides of the body more independantly.
