Default Nonito Donaire vs Jorge Arce

This fight has just struck my mind like a thunder bolt now that The Flash is set to ascend in weight, opening up a whole new level of competition. Nonito has talked of Jorge Arce before on a personal level, but its unknown if his promoters have the Mexican beast in their sights. IMO, I think it would be one hell of a bout. Donaire is the fastest and most dangerous offensive fighter out there while Arce is the most aggressive and relentless lightweight pressure fighter I've ever seen since prime Marco A. Barrera. This fight definitely won't happen soon, but I got an ominous feeling that it is approaching in the far future, like the storm that will hit the east coast tomorrow.

What do you guys think? And how do you think this clash would go?

    "El Tigre/Travieso" Arce

    "The Flash" Donaire

Donaire would be just too fast and Arce is way past his prime. Donaire destroys Arce

I was kinda thinking the same and based on Jorge's performance in his recent fights and the caliber of his opponents, he's either slowing down or cruising right now. Wouldn't count him out completely though, he's 31 years old, given he's had a lot of fights; I'm gonna wait to see his fight against Wilfredo to tell how much he's still got. If he's still the raging beast that leveled so many fighters, I think he'd really challenge Donaire, who hasn't faced the kind of durability and menacing pressure in Arce.

Vazquez Jr is gonna wreck Arce so don't see how a Donaire/Arce matchup is intriguing at all

Arce is never the same after Darchinyan destroyed him.

You can't count out Arce like that (is a die hard fan D'<). The dynamic of a beast Mexican fighter doesn't die that easily.
I see an underdog Arce giving Vasquez a run for his rep.

Watch Darchinyan-Arce then Donaire-Darchinyan, I know styles makes fights, but Donaire is in a completely different league. Arce stands no chance.

Arce was already on the slide before even facing Darchinyan

no, nonito needs to face the young champions of 118 and try to become undisputed. there's anselmo moreno and koki kameda. also the winner of mares-agbeko fight. i hope agbeko wins coz if abner wins there's slim chance we'd see him face donaire coz of gbp. then donaire can move up and face bigger challenges. eventually i would love to see him against rigondeux, chris john, gamboa and juanma.

This. Vazquez Jr. will retire Arce. He's too big and Arce will hang em up after this. He said last year was going to be his last but wins over mediocre opposition and a Super-Flyweight Title made him believe he had more to offer. So why oh why jump 2 weight divisions to fight a young, undefeated, future superstar? He's too macho for his own good at times.

exactly, Donaire needs to clean up 118 and IMO nobody would be able to dispute his place on the p4p list if he does so cause it's a very deep division, Donaire/Agbeko would probably be a lot more competitive than most think, and although i really like Mares his defense is leaking and Agbeko is probably gonna take advantage with his fast hands and precise punching, but i'd say it goes by decision, either way as long as all the best at 118 fight each other it's turning out to be a hot division IMO just as good as 140 right now

I want to believe Arce's recent dulled performances can be handed to poor training and physical conditioning. He's gotta have something left if he's challenging Vasquez. It's either that or he really needs the paycheck.

Arce had some exciting fights but he was garbage. He was a bit like Gatti, exciting but even less skilled.

Donaire would treat him like a sparring partner.

Arce wasn't great at anything but he was far from being garbage, he fought the best and no matter what put in his best effort, but hey look who i'm talking to
