Online play questions

OK so I started playing online and I am getting battered. Don't like these slugfest type fights. Anyway I have a few questions, thoughts and answers appreciated.


i) I am rated 78 and fought some guys of similar level and the fights are pretty even (though I usually lose !). However if i fight a guy around 85 or 86 chances are I am going to get sparked in 1st or 2nd . How do ratings build and is there any point in me fighting these guys - it don't do much for morale I can tell you

ii) why the hell does my fighter freeze and become immobile when stunned. The follow ups usually knock me down. Other guys I fight seem to be able to move away when stunned. I honestly stunned a guy around 7 times other day but could never get to him when stunned as he just moved away. He stunned me twice and floored me in follow up when my guy just froze with his block up. Annoying

iii) don't know how but when stats come up at end of game a lot of the guys I am fighting are throwing like 80% power punches (eg other night the guy threw 269 power shots out of 312 in total for whole fight). how the hell can they sustain that ? Thought they had stopped the spammers


I played FNR4 from the day of its release right up to a couple of weeks ago when this got released. At the moment i can't see me still playing this latest release beyond next week.

It would help if you built your boxer up a bit. Why don't you join the gym called saddoboxing. If you are playing on the xbox that is.

We have 5 members and growing. It's a good way to match up against similar level players, build up your online boxer stats and fight for bragging rights on this forum

Learning curve is steep, but this game is def better than FN4.

The button bashers and super punchers are now the easiest to fight. Keep your stamina high and just block or step away from the punch, counter them all night.

If you can keep your stamina high going into the second half of the fight, you'll win with ease.

Timing is crucial. But you should be able to get an idea of their favourite punch, once you've sussed that you can counter to that side all night.

Also, if you get to the match up screen and your opponent is way higher than you, back out and search again because unless you are really good, you will get a battering!

so when my guy gets stunned and does mr freeze its cos he is shit right ??

Yeah, it's because he's turd!

Plus as you go though you unlock the stun ability, you are only just off being a walking punch bag!

Instead of doing that you can buy your way to great stats. (if I wasn't on the phone you would now see multiple roll eyes) so even guys as crap as us, as new as us, can have a boxer that can KO you in one punch.

Once our gym has more people, you'll never need to fight a ranked match again.

I have a real hard time blocking body shots. My hands go down like I'm blocking, but I still take damage to my health and stamina. So far I really dislike the blocking, in FNR4 I'd mix up my punches, make an opening and land power punches to the body, not so much in Champions.

Yeah Agreed. I think the fact you can buy your way to great stats is the equivalent to steroids!

Anyway no steroids in the saddoboxing gym.
