    Default Scott wants MAB

Scott Harrison is lining up a fight with Mexican legend Marco Antonio Barrera later this year.
The Scottish boxer defends his WBO featherweight title against Dominican Joan Guzman in Belfast on 20 May.

But Harrison's father and coach Peter is keen for Harrison to challenge WBC super featherweight king Barrera.

"There has to be a reason to move up and if (promoter) Frank Warren can offer us Barrera then that would be a great reason," said Harrison Snr.

Warren has already said a clash with Barrera can be made if Harrison comes through arguably his toughest test to date against Guzman.

Warren said: "Barrera is the biggest name out there and it's a possibility.

"I had some calls from Barrera's people looking to make the match. But because of the Guzman fight we were unable to do that at the moment."

A clash with Barrera, a three-weight world champion, would make Harrison the third Briton to be involved in a super-fight in short succession.

Last May, Ricky Hatton beat Kostya Tszyu to claim the IBF light welterweight crown while Joe Calzaghe wrested the IBF super middleweight crown from Jeff Lacy at the start of this month.

Harrison Snr refuted suggestions that Guzman, the undefeated former WBO super bantamweight champion, will be his son's hardest fight.

"When you look at Scott's record there are men on it who stand out such as Manuel Medina, Tom Johnson and Wayne McCullough," said Harrison Snr.

"They were harder fights than this one. Of course we're not taking Guzman lightly, I just feel that Scott will be too strong for him."

Harrison was forced to withdraw from the original 25 March date against Guzman at Glasgow's Braehead Arena because of a mouth abscess.

I like Scott but think he would get put into a world of pain by MAB
