I love shit like that, just the fact that the signal has come from 94 light years away is amazing.
I'm kind of obsessed with black holes, work holes and time travel.
It won't be a signal from aliens or anything like that and there will more than likely be a relatively simple explanation, it's still interesting though.
If they are anything like 21st century humans it is probably best to igmore it. Wars, central banks and resource pillage. Instead of being friends it would just a new cold war. Or if they are actually nice we would just exploit them. Don't do it aliens! It's lost cause here on the new Venus!
What's interesting is that HD 164595 is a single stable main sequence G2 star, very similar to the sun, close to the same age (4.5 billion years).
There are very few stars so similar to the sun within 100 light years.
The only significant difference is it has a large 16 earth mass planet orbiting fairly close to it (near the size of Neptune or Uranus).
Yes it is single and stable. And that other star with what could be a an alien made starlight energy gathering orbiting complex.... That star is dimming dramatically when that alien structure.moves in front if it.
