Derby Boxer – Ovill McKenzie, took just 15 seconds to demolish Welshman Jeff Evans Friday night – to win the vacant Commonwealth Light-Heavyweight Title. McKenzie (aptly named ‘The Upsetter’!) unleashed a barrage of shots in the opening seconds pressuring Evans back on the ropes then landing a huge right which saw Evans fall heavily backwards. Referee Terry O’Connor stopped the fight immediately and Evans was tended to by ringside Medics.
McKenzie’s record improves to 19 wins (8 by KO) 11 losses (2 by KO), while Evans drops to 8 wins (1 by KO) 2 losses (1 by KO) and 1 draw.

The local man unleashes the body-shots in the eighth and final round – picking up the work-rate in the closing half minute with a number of head-shots which sees Frontin on unsteady legs. This was Walshes best round ! He gets the points win (79-74) and improves to 9 wins (3 by KO) while Frontin drops to 3 wins 11 losses (2 by KO) and 1 draw.

Nurse gets the points win (60-53) and improves to 20 wins (3 by KO) no losses, while Godor drops to 6 wins (2 by KO) 18 losses (5 by KO) and 3 draws.
