Steve Wood – VIP Boxing Promotions hosted another stacked card on Saturday night at Devere Whites, Reebok Stadium, Bolton.

The Bill entitled ‘High Flyers’ should have headlined the Central Area Bantamweight Title between Liverpool’s Ryan Farrag and Mike Robinson, but Farrag was forced to compete in a six round contest against Birmingham’s Sid Razak when Robinson pulled out with an injury. Farrag won comfortably on points 60-54.

The 16-Fight Bill had a great mix of contests which also saw Cruiserweight Stevie Taylor of Darwen win by third round stoppage of Paul O’Hagan of Gateshead in their scheduled six rounder.

Popular Massey wins on points (40-38) in his second pro outing. His record now stands at 2 wins (1 by KO) no losses.

Burkin, who sustained a cut to the left eye, gets his second loss of two – both on points.

Luke Blackledge (Accrington) v Iain Jackson (Brighton)

4 x 3 Light Heavyweight Contest

A four rounder for Blackledge who is to fight Paul Smith for the British Super-Middleweight Title on the 7 December.

Blackledge wins on points 40-36. His record improves to 14 wins (5 by KO) 1 loss and 2 draws.

Jackson drops to 3 wins (1 by KO) 15 losses (5 by KO) and 1 draw.

There was an unfortunate clash of heads in the second round which caused a cut to Lewis’s right brow but he didn’t let it bother him too much after the initial clash and kept up the pace.
