WBA Middleweight champ, Gennady Golovkin, is already installed in New York, and is waiting for the weigh-in on Friday for his fight with Curtis Stevens on Saturday night at the Madison Square Garden.
Golovkin, who has retired 13 opponents in a row, says he is ready to have his hand raised in his next defense of the belt he won in 2010.
On the other hand, Stevens thinks he is the one who will stop the WBA champion. This is his first title shot and has four wins in a row.
Last Saturday at the EWE Arena in Oldenburg, Germany , a WBA 154 lb Intercontinental title fight took place. Former champion, Argentinean Guido Nicolás Pitto, lost his belt to Jack Culcay.
The bout was a direct rematch after their fight for the vacant title on April 27, 2013 in Hamburg, won by Pitto.
On this occasion, Culcay dominated the action and won the score of judges Erkki Meronen and Jean François Toupin 115-113, and Pawel Kardyni 117-112.
