WBA Titlist Miyao Overcomes Abaniel In Stern Tokyo Challenge

Light Minimumweight world champion, Japanese Ayaka Miyao retained her World Boxing Association belt by defeating the Filipino challenger Gretchen Abaniel at the Kokakuen Hall in Tokyo on Tuesday.

The Japanese stylist was victorious on her third defense, beating Abaniel by unanimous decision on the judge’s cards by scores of 97-93, 97-93 and 96-94.

Her record improved to 16-5-1 while her opponent falls to 13-4.
