Manchester’s ‘Genius’ Joe Murray scored a second round TKO win against Hungarian Gyula Tallosi last night in Manchester. The Coldwell Promotions show at Bowlers Exhibition Centre billed as ‘The Heat is On’ featured nine contests in total.

Tallosi was on the canvas in round two then halted by Referee Mark Lyson when he was under too much pressure from Murray.
Murray wins by second round TKO
Tyrone Nurse (Huddersfield) v Radoslav Mitev (Sofia, Bulgaria)
6 x 3 Light-Welterweight Contest
Mitev went down from a left to the body in the fourth. Nurse wins by fourth round KO.
Robbie Davies Jnr (Kirkby) v Gheorghe Ghiompirica (Ploiesti, Romania)
6 x 3 Light Welterweight Contest
A quick exit for the Romanian who retired at the end of the first round citing a shoulder injury.
Sam Hyde (Sale) v Jakub Wojcik (Poland)
4 x 3 Cruiserweight Contest
A tough fight for Hyde who found himself on the canvas in the opening round. The popular Sale boxer seemed to lose a bit of concentration after that but battled through and despite taking the last punch of the night flush on the face as the bell signalled the end of the contest, he edged the points win 39-38
Paul Riley (Birkenhead) v Viktors Drizlionoks (Debut) (Wolverhampton via Latvia)
4 x 3 Light Middleweight Contest
Drizlionoks was on the canvas in the fourth round but saw it out to the end of the contest with Riley getting the points win 39-37
Andy Kremner (Oldham) v Danny Donchev (London via Bulgaria)
4 x 3 Welterweight Contest
John Murray trained Kremner scored a points win 40-35 (Donchev was down in the second round).
Mohammed Fahim (Debut) (Bury via Pakistan) v Dean Evans (Debut)(Hereford)
4 x 3 Lightweight Contest
First contests for both these men but it was Fahim who got the points win 40-37
Chris Conwell (Manchester) v Harvey Hemsley (Bristol)
4 x 3 Super-Featherweight Contest
Conwell wins on points 40-36
Kerry Evans (Wrexham) v Marcin Ficner (Poland)
4 x 3 Light-Welterweight Contest
Ficner was stopped in round two having been on the canvas a total of three times during the round.
