We hear the sad news today that Scottish boxer, Mike Towell, has passed away following a fifth round knockdown in a British Title Eliminator bout at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Glasgow on Thursday night.
Mike, from Dundee, had suffered severe bleeding to the brain following the bout hosted by St. Andrews Sporting Club.
After a knockdown in round one and again in round five, Mike was given attention in the ring while Welsh opponent Dale Evans looked on in horror. But the Scot passed away in hospital some twenty four hours later.
