Nathan Heaney (Stoke) won the vacant BBBofC Midlands Area Middleweight Title on Friday night – outpointing Tom Stokes of West Bromwich in a thrilling contest at the Kings Hall, Stoke-on-Trent.

There was huge support for Heaney who got off to a good start finding success in round two but his legs seemed to lock momentarily in round four as Stokes has him under pressure. An exciting and gruelling ten rounds with Stokes showing bruises and swellings below both eyes while Heaney’s nose was bloody. Stokes took his foot off the pedal in round eight and both men dig deep for the tenth and final round. A closely fought contest that sees Heaney getting the win on points 96-94

BCB Promotions (Errol Johnson) hosted the dinner show which featured five contests in all.
